“Will return next year.”
December is a great time to visit. High 70's low 80's during the day, low 60's at night. Great pool and beach area. Not crowded, but active . Worked out in the gym and ate breakfast and a couple of dinners at the hotel. Great restaurants close by.
“Great views”
Beautiful hotel, close to restaurants, lots of water sports
“Beautiful Resort!”
This place is beautiful! I didn't want to leave once my trip was over. The staff was great, location was great, and i love how it has its own beach. I would love to go back again!
“nice hotel with good location but...”
This was our 4th trip to Cabo. We had previously stayed at Hotel Finisterra, which is on the other side of the marina and the beach faces the Pacific. We always liked Finisterra because we could walk to the Marina and the downtown area. For this trip, I decided I wanted to be closer to Medano Beach, where most of the action seemed to be. We chose Casa Dorada. POSITIVES: Hotel was very clean, staff was extremely nice. We stayed in a Junior Suite that had a nice view of the bay. We walked to the Marina and downtown area every morning and night. Surprisingly, the prices weren't too bad. Mango Deck is right in front of the hotel. NEGATIVES: Mango Deck is right in front of the hotel. This is good and bad. The food was great, but Mango is very much like a Cancun bar. Too many tables and chairs (especially on the beach) and drinking games with tequila shots. It was also very loud, which was annoying at night in the hotel. The beach is nice, but because of all the tables and roped off areas, it was very crowded. In addition, Medano Beach is pretty sloped so there wasn't a ton of room to stroll. The pool at Dorada didn't seem as nice as at Finisterra. I can't explain, but it just didn't "feel" as relaxing. The swim-up bar is tucked in the corner. At Finisterra, the swim-up bar is connected to the large Palapa restaurant, which was cool and inviting. The menu items at the pool seemed limited. I ordered Fish Tacos one day and they were heavily fried.
“Impressed”
Booked a junior suite and ended up with a large one bedroom suite with a super view! The room was great and looked new, the only negative thing (for a woman) was that the bathroom and makeup table were too dimly lit. The service throughout the resort was great to awesome and the maid comes twice a day. The food at the swimup bar is awesome! The drinks at the B bar were good, but waitresses were sleepy... . The beach is nice and swimmable for adults, probably too rough for children, the water temperature is perfect (better than Hawaii). Beach vendors are a bit annoying, so dont expect being able to take a quiet stroll, but they also sell some nice stuff. Attending a vacation club presentation gave us discounts for activities, and we did the dinner cruise which we would recommend, we also rented wave runners. The location of the hotel is super, you can easily walk to the marina. Tried the restaurant at the hotel across the street which was great. Would have tried the restaurant on the property, or one of the other restaurants down on the beach, but it was low season and the hotel and surrounding area was a bit too quiet for our taste. Would definitely consider staying here again.
“Best hotel in Cabo...hands down.”
This was my second trip back to Cabo and knew I wanted to stay at this hotel. Views are spectactular, and resort location is perfect;just a quick and enjoyable walk to the marina. We stayed in a one bedroom suite and it was very large and had two spacious balconies. The resort has two nice pools which give you great views of the sea of Cortez. The beach has many water sports and I would recommend doing the zip line or ATV excursion that the hotel offers. As far as Dining options there is a very romantic restaurant called the Baja Cantina...a little pricy but worth it. You sit directly on the beach and some of the best seafood I have had. Also at the marina you will find lots of options;my personal fav was Senior Sweets. I can not wait to plan my next trip at the same hotel Nex year.
“Over priced and not equipped as a "resort"”
This hotel charges for everything and gives very little in return. Shower leaked, no coffee for the coffee pot and I had to ask for towels.
“Great”
Great overall
“can't wait to go back”
Wonderful hotel. Great staff-very accomodating in every manner. The hotel is centrally located. We walked everywhere. All the stores and restaurants are all in walking distance. First time in Cabo and at Casa Dorada. Will definitely be back. Won't stay anywhere else.
“Not the greatest”
Hotel was more concerned with selling timeshares than they were taking care of their guests. You cant see much of the ocean from the pool because the Mango Deck blocks the view, and adds a ton of noise. There were not enough pool towels so we had to wait 1 hour until they had more available. Room was amazing and our partial view was good, but the service was worse than average, the only restaurant with the view was taken up by time share presentations, and we had to pay for coffee in our room. No bueno!
