“middle of the road hotel in a weird location”
This hotel isn't really good or really bad. It's just in the middle somewhere, given that it's a budget motel. It hasn't been updated in a while, and is in a very strange neighborhood. But everything in the motel worked fine, and the bed was reasonably comfortable. Skip the "free continental breakfast" of OJ and donuts, and instead go to Foxy's two doors down, which makes really good hot breakfasts.
“Cheap hotel”
When I checked in they didn't have running water for about 3 hours! Room was cold, heater wasn't working or something. I give this place 2 stars out of 5. Close to the Galleria, so that was nice. Go here if you're on a budget. Clean room and quiet.
“Tony”
I've been staying at the Vagabond Glendale regularly for a few years now. Usually we are in town for a 4 or 5 days twice a year. I have family in the area and the location is very convenient. The hotel is becoming a little aged and the rooms are in need of a makeover. The carpet is a little old and smelly. On more than one occasion, I've had to ask for a different room. The staff is very friendly and accommodating
“"Noisy at Night"”
There were 3 nights when we couldnt sleep or were awakened by noises outside. We hear people walking by our room so many times each night. We also hear people constantly opening and closing doors and seemed like they were trying to open our own door at one time.
“Ok for convenience & location”
Will go back only for location
“Better hotels in the area for same price.”
Try the Golden Key across the street!
“Disappointing Breakfast”
There is one thing we look for in a motel/hotel: continental breakfast. We went to the lobby to find 8 donuts, 4 apples and 4 bananas. Usually when other places offer breakfast, you have a choice of cereals, bagels, donuts/croissants, fruit and yogurt. We then went next door to a donut shop, and the same donuts from Vagabond were there! We originally thought Vagabond would be a good choice because of the breakfast, and it was only 10 minutes away from Universal Studios. We won't go back. On a side note, if you go there just to sleep the day away to get some rest, that is not allowed. Because upon arriving, you are required to sign a paper stating that they are to enter your room everyday. There was a musty odor in the room which we couldn't get rid of even with the door open.
“Plain and Simple. Perfect for an inexpensive stay.”
If you want your hotel to be a fun and exciting place where you can spend a lot of your time then don't go here. However, if you're going to spend the majority of time away from your hotel then this is perfect. Everything was just nice. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the place. Everything was just average or slightly above. SERVICE: The service was very good. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Did everything we asked with a smile. ROOM: Plain but nice. Nothing wrong with it, had everything we needed. However, the people next to us were a VERY loud and rowdy bunch late at night but the man at the front desk offered personally go quiet them down when I called at @:30 in the morning. That was nice. LOCATION: Great Location! RIGHT across the street from an awesome outdoor mall with 2 theaters and plenty of places to eat. Also only about 10 minutes from the 5 freeway. AMENITIES: Very plain here. Breakfast in the morning was donuts or croissants or something like that with apples and oranges, orange juice and coffee. Pool was small and had a thing or two floating in it but I spent about ten minutes cleaning it with the pool net thing and then it was fine. Plus there was nobody else in it the whole time we were there (which was nice). So nice enough pool area. And thats pretty much it for amenities. There was also a computer with internet that you could use at the front desk. Overall nice place with little to no frills. Definitely worth it for the money.
“Good location”
The hotel was okay with not much facilities but the location is the best. Glendale galleria and Americana at brand is just a block away. Very convenient indeed for travellers. I would definitely come back to this hotel just for the location.
“Good value for the money”
Conveniently located in the area I frequently visit. No other hotel of this category has comparable services or value.
