Was a very nice hotel , clean and convenient, quiet

Area recommendations

El Segundo is close to the LAX airport and there is a nice state beach just down the road. The LA airport courthouse is just down the road. Lots of hotels, restaurants and things to do.

Outdoors or beach

Doc Wheeler State beach is a very nice beach just at the end of the airport. It has RV overnight or weekly camping.

“only for short stay”

Their close distance with LAX is the main reason to choose this hotel since I have early morning flight from LA. Their hotel staff was friendly enough to exchange my room from first to ground floor because of my big luggage, while they do not have an elevator to help me with. Their shuttle to/from airport is free, but to airport after noon time to subject to small fee.

“Its a travelodge.. you get what you pay for.”

Good points - close to airport, free shuttle in the morning but only at certain times, beds are comfy and big. Bad points - free shuttle only at certain times, giant cockroach in the bath (put bin over and left for housekeeping) breakfast was basic and had to wait 10 mins for someone to come and refill the milk.

“Ok / motel standard - good location”

The motel is ok, the rooms are nice (standard) and clean. They are slightly outdated and not all rooms have a flatscreen tv or a new fridge. I can't recommend the rooms on the ground floor as you can hear everything that happens upstairs. Most of the staff is nice & helpful. The breakfast room is too small and therefore very croweded in the morning. They offer cereal, waffles & toast no fruit, no eggs / bacon...I do not think that this qualifies for a continental breakfast... There is a parking fee of 5 USD per day which I think is not ok.

“Go somewhere else!!!”

Staff aloof boarding on rude. Hotel, not the cleanest. Air condition did not work in first room. Switched to second room and three light bulbs in lamps burned out. Pool was nice and clean. Lots of channels on the TV (trying to say something positive).

“Comfortable and Good Value”

You can usually judge a hotel by the state of the bathrooms. Ours had a newish Corian sink-top and the shower/tub was in good shape. Overall the room was clean and comfortable. WiFi was free and acceptably fast. Be aware that there is a nightly charge for parking.

“would stay again if in LA”

front counter person was very polite/helpful....gave us a place to go for dinner/drinks(we didnt however)...ended up going on a hollywood tour that was offered at the front counter...again he was very helpful in booking this for us in a short time

“not impressed”

doors are not cleaned and scratched. Problem with toilet and I was given a plunger to fix the problem ourselves.

“"Good enough for what we paid"”

It was okey. We did not expect a grand hotel. It provided us with our basic needs, no more, no less.

Area recommendations

I would recommend the downtown LA. It is clean and everything is in walking distance.

Getting around

Taxis are abundant. We found out you can make a deal with them to see LA at a very reasonable price. Compared to the tour bus, it's more relax. Tour bus are always on the run. They don't give you enough time to explore, just a quick look. I recommend finding a taxi driver and make a deal.
