Great location!

Literally walking distance from the Chinese theatre, walk of fame and sunset boulevard! Rooms are wonderful, many places to eat nearby especially if you like Thai food!

Pros: It's a good location with restaurants nearby.
Cons: They need to put some kind of sound dampening on the upper floors so people on the first floor don't have to hear everything.
Very noisy. The people above us were pacing back and forth for hours and we couldn't sleep. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

Dixie Review

Posted 08-Dec-2014
Rooms are motel style; no communal lobby/hallway, enter from outside into each room. Lots of people walking around late into the evening, which was loud and made me feel unsafe. Also, upon departure, a fight broke out in the room/parking lot resulting in a physical fight in the parking lot and cars taking off. Very dangerous if you happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Nice hotel, close to subway.

Posted 06-Dec-2014
Pros: Front desk employees are very helpful. Great price for budget minded families.
Cons: When we needed more washcloths front desk said they were out of clean ones.
Used the subway to get to Universal Studios (quick trip) and saved on parking fee. Also rode subway to get closer to sights on Hollywood Blvd such as walk of fame stars. Felt comfortable walking around the area.

A good deal

Posted 04-Dec-2014
I got a great deal on this hotel which was close to my interview. It's in Thai town so close to lots of good eats and the subway stop is less than a block away! It's more like a motel so don't expdct breakfast or anything fancy. The bathroom was a bit sketch and I could tell the shower curtain had seldom been cleaned or changed. A little tiny in there but the room was incredibly spacious with wood floors. I wouldn't pay more than 120 a night for this place but it was exactly what I needed and there was plenty of free parking which was a nice bonus!

Great place and value

Very comfortable and clean hotel, convenient for subway to.attractions, if further than the stones throw mentioned in the blurb. Very happy with everything and the staff were very helpful. Also enjoyed good breakfasts at the adjacent diner.

Lorraine(na) one of the ladies at the front desk was very nice and helpful. Room was clean, everything from food to liquor stores are right around the corner. Overall it was great. Would stay here again.

Nice and simple hotel, but too much noises.

Posted 28-Nov-2014
The hotel room was very nice, clean, and simple. The bed was pretty comfortable. There's no bed bugs, which that's a plus! The hotel staff at check-in were very friendly and helpful. They made sure you're checked in as quickly as possible. We only stayed for one night after going to Universal Studios. However, I would not recommend this hotel to light sleepers who are like me. The walls were pretty thin that you could hear your neighbors' water (pipes) running, conversations, doors opening and closing, and baby crying from outside and next to my room throughout the whole night. Also, there were a lot of sirens from cops/ambulances throughout the night, since it's right by the street. This hotel is also in downtown, so don't expect a quiet night when people could be going in and out for the night (s).

Noisy Hollywood

Posted 22-Nov-2014
The first, non smoking room smelled like smoke, and the toilet didn't work. I could hear the conversations of the guests in the adjoining room. There was a little mold in the shower tiles. The second room was much better. Those sheets seemed cleaner, too. I like that there isn't any carpeting. However, the remote control was pretty dirty judging by the amount of dirt that ended up on the washcloth. As a light sleeper, the people walking around on the floor above me woke me up at midnight, and the street traffic kept me up. I'd definitely recommend this place if you want to hang out in Hollywood most of the time and not pay a lot for hotel fees. I wouldn't recommend it if you need to get rested for work the next day.
