“No better than a Motel 6”

The motel is old and somewhat run down. The hinges on the door of the TV cabinet were coming loose and the door didn't close properly. During our stay we had to have maintenance come and repair a toilet leak. I will say that the leak was repaired almost immediately after I reported it. Motel has no eating facility so you have to go off premises to have breakfast, A real time waster. Guide books rate it higher than it deserve. On the up side, the staff is very friendly and helpful.

“It worked for me. Good location for my needs.”

The hotel staff was great. Very helpful. The rooms are "dated" with old style TV and bathroom facilities. The toilet was running on and off through out my stay. The parking was good and the locaton was perfect for what I required. Overall I think it was a good value.

“Funky old place :)”

We love this place for the charm..and the fact that Olives across the street has a fabulous breakfast. It is a bit long in the tooth though. My husband likes to smoke cigars so he likes that they have smoking rooms. The staff is ultra nice and the location is great for sightseeing as well as business in Burbank and the surrounding areas. We've stayed there 3 times and will continue to do so when we visit Burbank.

“Great value!”

The only issue I had was the rooms weren't very quiet. This would be the other guests not being very considerate, not necessarily the hotels fault. Great location, Hollywood Blvd- 5 miles; L.A. Zoo- 3 miles; Universal Studios- 5 miles; Warner Brothers Studios- 3 miles; La Brea Museum/Tar Pits- 8 miles (I think-but it was really close!); China Town/Laos Town, etc- 5-6 miles. It was a great trip and a good stay. The staff from front desk to housekeeping were excellent!!!

The whole city was clean and well taken care of.

“a quirky gem”

I had the best time staying at the Safari Inn. It is a very small, not too fancy hotel but it was clean, the staff was very nice and helpful and it was close to everything that I wanted to see. It is definitely different with it's colorful "safari" themed covers and art work, but for the price, I couldn't have asked for more.

“Clean and comfortable”

Nice hotel in a safe neighborhood close to the movie studios, restaurants and shopping.

“Excellent value, good location”

I travel to LA at least once a year, and have been doing that for a lot of years. Lodging is so expensive and some of the neighborhoods are downright scary. I found Safari Inn from one of the unadvertised specials. The rooms are moderate sized, but are nicely furnished and decorated, and seem very well maintained. The bed was comfortable, it comes with a fridge, and a heater/ac unit. The one downside was the tv. It is small and ancient and has very few channels. The neighborhood is ok, and felt pretty safe. There are some decent family-style restaurants in easy walking distance, in addition to a drug store and a grocery store. The motel is 2mi from Universal Studios, and there is a bus that stops literally right outside the motel that will take you there or to the transit center which you can take practically anywhere in LA. The checkin process was horrible, but I think that was because the person there was new. I was the only customer yet it took nearly a half hour for me to get checked in. Overall I really like Safari Inn. I've certainly stayed in nicer places (in other cities) but for LA this is just about the perfect blend of a very nice room, some good amenities, good location, and a great price. I will definitely stay there again!
