“A disappointment... - No hot water and a flooded floor because of a broken Hot Water Tank”

This was our Wedding-Honeymoon booking... Big mistake... In the middle of the night the Fire Department arrived and evacuated some floors because they wiere flooded by a broken Hot water tank... No Hot water after that... The hotel offered $10 compensation... Not satisfactory at all... This was a big night for us and we trusted in the name and reputation of a large, major hotel chain. The compensation offer is a slap in the face for a ruined Honeymoon..!

“Not Impressed”

I have used Expedia to book rooms for several years. This is the first time I have been disappointed. Other than the lobby, the hotel was in disrepair. Not all of the items (ie fridge) were available as stated by Expedia. The equipment in the fitness room did not work. The elevator did not work when we were attempting to check out. Not even the phone in the room worked so we were unable to call the front desk. We stayed for two nights and there were loud parties both nights. I am afraid that I cannot recommend this hotel.

“OK hotel for our vacation needs”

This hotel was ok to come back to and sleep for the night but thats all. Area was a little scary at night but ok during the day. Location was only good because we had a rental car. About a fourty five minute drive to hollywood or to longbeach area. Room condition was not very nice. Pillows were very VERY uncomfortable... neck was always sore in the morning. I would not recommend staying here.

“One of the weirdest hotels I have ever stayed in!”

I do a lot of travelling in South America and have stayed in some pretty strange places, but this one has to go down as one of the weirdest hotels I have ever stayed in. First off, there was the "courtesy van" from LAX. I was told by the airport info desk to wait where the other vans stop, but after half an hour managed to round up some quarters to telephone the hotel. They gave me the phone number "of the driver" but I had no change to call him (and there's no way to get change at LAX!). Finally the info desk made the call for me and I talked to "the driver", who picked me up in an old car with "Ramada Plaza Inn" written on a piece of paper taped to the windscreen. The hotel itself would have been quite good in its heyday, although that was probably about fifty or sixty years ago. Air conditioning didn't work in my room and I just couldn't be bothered trying to get it fixed. There's no breakfast served in the hotel restaurant but I was told that lunch was on from 11am to 3pm. When I arrived at 1 pm for lunch, however, I was informed that there was party going on and as it was a private function, hotel guests weren't allowed in (despite what they'd told me a couple of hours before). My conclusion was that the staff seem nice enough, but this hotel definately belongs to some sort of parallel universe. Book at your own risk!

“For the price, it was ok...”

We stayed 3 days at the Ramada Inn. As far was we know-the staff was very helpful. I called down for more towels and the were delivered right up. Whenever I called, the staff was helpful. I loved the pool area and the waterfall, it was all very nicely kept and very pretty. The hotel itself is dated and could use a few upgrades (air conditioners, paint the moldings and doors in the bath, replace tiles) But on a whole, we enjoyed our stay. I would give it a 3 rating. The location is great. I lived in CA for 28 years and El Segundo is a pretty nice place.

Area recommendations

Redondo Bch, Playa Del Rey, Santa Monica, Manhattan Beach, Venice Beach. Culver City

Outdoors or beach

Go to Venice beach- a very ecclectic crowd, Santa Monica Pier has rides and restaurants, and so does Redondo beach--it has shopping and restaurants. Or short rode trip down to Long Beach peir, for rides, restaurants, etc.

“Not the best”

Stayed there in 2005 and thought it wasn't too bad then, but since it is deteriorating at a rapid pace. Ramada need to do some much needed upgrades, buffet food looks like it has been sitting for a few days so be aware. Great pool.

Area recommendations

If staying near LAX stay at the HIlton, same price and nicer.
