“Highly recommended”
I stayed at the Magic Castle Hotel for 5 nights for the second time and will definitely go there the next year. Very good location, close to Hollywood boulevard, subway and buses which goes to the main location of Los Angeles like Universal Studio, Farmer's Market, Beverly Hills, Westwood.... Close to the hotel there is a huge park called the Runyon Canyon Park where peaple can go for jogging but most of all there is a magnificient panoramic wiew of Los Angeles. The staff of the hotel is so friendly and helpful asking everytime if all is fine. The room is clean and very convenient. The hotel gives access to the Magic Castle Hotel which is reserved only to members and magicians but for the peaple staying at the hotel they can make a reservation to assist to a magic show.
“Fantastic customer care”
2nd time we've stayed at the Magic Castle. Wouldn't stay anywhere else in LA. Staff couldn't do more to help you. One staff member even used their own mobile phone to secure a free e-ticket for a concert by daughter wanted to go to when a UK mobile wouldn't work. Free breakfast is great and location couldn't be better. We use public transport always - buses and metro are just a very short walk.
“Great service, great location (for Hollywood)”
Service at the hotel is some of the best we have ever experienced. The staff are so helpful and friendly all the time. The location is great just situated one block from Hollywood Blvd, easy walking distance to the El Capitan theatre and the Sid Grauman's Chinese theatre (the one with all the stars hands and foot prints) and of course the walk of fame. A little further away but still walkable (for the English anyway!!) is the Hollywood bowl and the Hollywood Heritage centre, as well as good photo opportunities for the HOLLYWOOD sign. Especially useful is the proximity to the subway station Hollywood Highlands (?). Not much of the city is served by the subway, but you can actually get here from LAX via three changes (easy) on the subway. We took the hire car back having got here and could probably have done with hanging on to it. It cost $90 in taxi fares to get to and from the Getty centre which is just fantastic. Getting anywhere further west requires public transport as the subway does not go there!! We used the hop on hop off tourist bus to get further west.... 48 hour ticket for $40 sounds good when compared to taxi fares... the buses are a bit on the old side and some of the sound systems are not too good. The red and yellow circuits each take 2 hours, the red takes you from Hollywood Blvd to Rodeo Drive (for those who care) where you can then join the yellow route to get to Santa Monica (Baywatch... Venice etc)
“One magic experience”
we stayed with our son and his girlfriend for just the one night. Our rooms were a little small compared with others, but we weren't inconvenienced by this. What made the stay here memorable was the exceptional friendliness of the desk staff, who greeted us with a drinks and supplied free candy and soda on request! We were impressed!! At breakfast the owner came around and spoke with the guests gauging our opinions etc. I haven't experienced that before. The location was spot on - parallel with Hollywood Blvd. We strolled down to find it was the premier of "Captain America", so lots of crowds. However we still found space to drink at the Hard Rock and eat at Rolling Stone! A memorable stay, and the best hotel service we experienced during our vacation in the 'States.
“Charming staff and good location”
Due to a mix up (not Hotel's fault) we were not expected until the following day. The staff could not have handled it better and we were quickly sorted. The girls loved the ice creams and hot towels served to anyone round the pool.
“Great Little Hotel”
I have stayed in this hotel before and did not think twice when re-booking to stay here. I think the service has even improved since the last time. This hotel is in a great location, just 1 block from the Chinese Theatre and Hollywood Boulevard where alot of the tours go from. The hotel itself is not luxurious but very comfortable and friendly. The service is excellent from being given lemonade when you check in to being offered complimentary non-alcoholic beverages. Even getting a free breakfast is a novelty in America. When they service your room they leave a note of tomorrow's weather so you can prepare what your going to wear and how much time yor going to spend outside the next day! All in all i love this hotel and if I do go back to LA I will definately stay here again.
“BEST THREE STAR HOTEL SERVICE I HAVE EVER HAD!”
first impressions are not the best at the lobby and entrance are small. rooms themselves are a little dated but this is only a three star so dont expect brand new quality. Location is amazing as one block from hollywood boulevard. Service is second to none-first room we had which expedia booked for us was the smallest one they had, we complained and they upgraded us to a one bed suite, room was huge two tvs, kitchen etc. The staff really do make the hotel, they even have free snacks, drinks etc at reception along with free dvd rentals, they will tell you exactly where to go and have a map for everything. We were so happy with the staff we had a spare bottle of champagne from our wedding, instead of drinking it we gave to them to say thanks. If you want to stay in hollywood and dont want to spend a fortune- THEN DEFINITELY STAY HERE!
“Customer Service Excellent”
The hotel room was in need of some refurbishment but it was cleaned well. The customer service was excellent nothing was too much trouble.
“would highly recommend”
Excellent hotel, perfect location for sightseeing. Slightly dated but very comfortable. Staff could not do enough to help. Free mini bar with drinks and nibbles galore! Would highly recommend to anyone.
“Good location, nice helpful staff, poorly maintained room!!”
Poorly maintained room compared to the high hotel charges will make me stay away from it in the future.Helpful nice staff and good service. Location is excellent but this does not justify the room condition. The hotel staff were notified of the faults during our stay.If you do not mind ants in the kitchen , broken hanging door,or having a single mirror in a family suite for four people for a week then you may enjoy your stay here.
