“Ya get what ya pay for Nothing more Nothing less”
Old basic hotel that needs refurbishing now. The carpet looks like it hasn't been cleaned in years. The refridgertor rattled when starting the elevator is for the brave but at least it has one. Ask if it has been serviced latley. It's cheap for a reason. But it is in Long Beach with everything in walking distance.
“Quick place to stay at the right price”
If your looking for a quick overnight place to stay at the right price this is it.
“Good with drawbacks”
The room was comfortable, with the exception of coming in and out of the bathroom. We found a child's toy from a previous tenant. The cleaning staff was friendly and spoke English. There was no breakfast which could have been provided, however there are two restaurants within 200 feet of the room and another that delivers reasonably priced food near by. There is also a Vons up the street one short block away. We did have a run in with a homeless person right outside of the hotel. It was not violent, but it was extremely uncomfortable.
“Will be back again.”
Overall very satisfied, carpet smelled alittle musky, might be due to room closed up on a hot day. Otherwise room was fine. Alittle disappointment that pool is locked and controlled by a pad lock vs access with room key. Didn't notice any schedule time for pool usage or notice that pool was off limits. The pool was small for the size of hotel and didn't get the opportunity to use during my stay, as it was locked very day.
“Won't stay there again”
Showed up to find no parking for my car. So ok it was the weekend but I reserved the room over a month ahead of time. The guy @ the front desk told me that people in other rooms brought more then 1 car & there was nothing he could do about it. Strike one! As he checked me in he remarked about how I paid to much for the room. But gave me no discount after saying that. Strike two. Now it's time to leave there is plenty of parking now mind you. I go to check out & I ask him if I can leave my car here while I got get breakfast down the street. He tells me no because he is afraid of having a no empty spots for customers checking in. So after that I say fine & ask where I might find a public parking spot? He of course not helping me once during this whole trip doesn't know. F.y.I I found one not even a block away after leaving there. It was the worst place I ever stayed.
“Horrible Experience”
I needed a room on last notice and Travelodge was within my budget; however, after two nights, I should have paid more for a better hotel and better service. There were baby roaches in both the bathroom and counter top. I had to sleep with my luggage on top of the bed. When I notified the front desk, I was told "we don't have roaches," and I told him I took pictures and a video. He then told me to wait for his boss, who was on the phone the entire 20 minutes that I waited. Never again will I stay at another Travelodge or refer any of my associates or friends.
“first night not so good but it got better.”
The first night, the toilet over-flowed, at 3:am. . But the desk clerk open'd another room for us for the rest of the night. The Room and Toilet were fixed and clean by 10:am. and we were back in our original 3 bed room for the rest of our stay. Over all it was a good stay.
“Could Be More Marathon Friendly”
Room and rate were fine, I picked the location due to proximaty to Marathon Expo and Start/Finish line. Front desk staff could be friendlier. Had to pay $20 to get late checkout extended 2 hours.
“Never Again”
Driving up to the Travelodge, I knew I had made a mistake. The building was painted a horrible yellow/orange color, and their "swimming pool" was located INSIDE the parking lot. The receptionist was friendly, but frazzled; and didn't seem to know what he was doing. Our room was located on the third floor, and after seeing the elevator, we opted to take the stairs. Once we got to the room and swiped our card, we realized that the receptionist had not activated them before giving them to us, so back down we went. Since the only room available was a smoking room, I expected the room to smell a bit like cigarettes, but not as badly as it actually did. The room smelled horrible- everything in that room was saturated with cigarette smoke. Opening the balcony door, windows, and turning on the fan did not help. The bathtub looked clean, but the drain was clogged; and the water took forever to go down. While laying in bed, I noticed a questionable red/brown stain on the ceiling (reminiscent of blood) above me. How it got on the ceiling, or what it actually was- I don't want to think about. The next morning the mattress had moved off the boxspring, and the corner was missing, which allowed us to see into the boxspring. It was disgusting. I had requested a late check out, the night receptionist said it would cost $21. In the morning I asked again and the morning receptionist said it would cost extra, but would not give a price. He asked what the other guy had quoted us, which was SHADY.
“Not Impressed”
When I booked these rooms on Expedia I immediately called the hotel directly to ensure the rooms would be adjoining. At that time the desk clerk told me there were no adjoining rooms but we could have two directly next to each other. When we arrived we were put in 2 smoking rooms 5 doors apart from each other. Both rooms were old but clean but very smokey. The real problem came at 5 am when the gentleman in the adjoining (!) room had has alarm go off, turned on the tv & proceeded to talk on the phone. We could hear every word like he was in the room with us. Do yourself a favor & stay in the Marriot across the street.
