“Beautiful, right next to the beach!”
I came here with my mother to visit my brother during Thanksgiving. The hotel is beautiful. Right on the beach, very near the Santa Monica Pier. Has outdoor fireplaces by the pool, and a spectacular view. The room we got was clearly a "discount special." We were all the way at the end of two hallways, with a patio right next to the street, and people above us who smoked and flicked their ashes on our table at night (at around 2am...we could hear them.) Other than that, the service was great! I lost my ID on the flight over, and the concierge was VERY helpful, keeping watch and signing for my overnighted passport and then delivering to my room. Only valet parking which is VERY convenient, a little pricey though. Would definitely stay again.
“Would have loved to stay longer!”
Hotel staff was awesome! Room was beautiful, only downside was the mattress was a bit too hard. The view was incredible. The location was within walking distance to everything!
“Lowes Santa Monica Review”
Overall it was a great experience but the parking was expensive and we were basically forced to park using their hotel valet which was pretty pricy. They said that there was no real parking outside the hotel and if we did, we'd have to be out by 6am every morning.. We also had to pay a gym fee everyday that we wanted to use the gym. This was not advertised anywhere and I was shocked to hear that I had to pay to use a treadmill. Good thing I was in Santa Monica and running on the beach was way better. The money that I would of spent on the fitness center was spent on getting a delicious post workout smoothy.
“Very Impressed”
We were impressed by the size of our room, very spacious and roomy. The hotel is conveniently located very near to Santa Monica Pier and the beach. We found the room to be very quiet. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We would definetly stay at the hotel again.
“Great Hotel in Santa Monica!”
Pros: Nice View and Location. Easy access to the beach but not hotel private beach. Walk Distance to Santa Monica Pier Great Service Cons: Valet parking is around $30 per day with unlimited in/out.
“Loved It!!!”
This hotel was everything we expected. It was wonderful.
“Good location and service”
I`d definitely recommend this hotel the views are fantastic and the service too. We have an standard room, no ocean views, and we ask for a room with ocean view and the reception desk man gently gave us one. So thanks a lot!
“I will come back”
Excellent
“Not Worth The Money”
Very cold in the lobby upon check-in, cold in the hallways to the room, and a horrible view of the ugliest hotel to the north. Expensive parking, 34 a night. I had asked to check-in a little early because my daughter was ill, they couldn't guarantee that they would have a room available...so she rested in the car rather than make the hour drive and lay down...thanks Lowes! Checked in the hotel and she finally felt like going down to the lobby bar just to try to eat a little something and we couldn't get waited on even though they had plenty of people working that small area. We finally got up and moved in hopes that it would catch someones attention, it did after another five minutes. If you want a beautiful hotel, but don't mind the sorry service, then this is your hotel!
“Great Hotel”
We enjoyed our stay at Loewes. It is a very nice hotel, but probably not quite worth their prices. The location is what you are paying for of course, which is excellent. You can walk to the Santa Monica Pier. Some of the pros are the service, everyone is very friendly and helpful. The pool is very nice and the outside sitting areas have gas/propane fires you can sit around in the evenings and have a drink or food. The rooms are nice, but I don't think the housekeepers had cleaned the floor in the bathrooms in a long time. That was my only complaint. Other than that, it was nice. Most of rooms that are facing the pool have the problem of hearing everything that people are doing at the pool and on the balconies. We were woken several times early mornings during our stay with staff moving furniture down by the pool and guests enjoying themselves LATE night on their balconies talking and laughing. So unless you don't mind hearing people, you should probably ask specifically for a room directly on the front of the hotel away from the pool/courtyard area. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.
