“Convenient location!!”
Great location and great value... clean, spacious room and very helpful staff :)
“Joe Wheeler”
Was a pleasant Hotel and the staff where very helpful. The room was nice and clean and the bed was comfortable. The shower was good too. The free breakfast was ok, the same things on offer everyday like sausage, egg, waffles, melons, fruit, cereals, juices, coffee and tea. I would stay again!
“Not impressed”
Hotel looked much better on website!
“Don't stay here!”
I chose this hotel because it was only a few miles from the Staples Center and it looked nice in photos. First, we got the wrong room, one with 2 beds rather than 1 queen, but I just let that go. Second, the air/heat system is on a control where if the outside temperature is 64 or less, only hot air will come out and if it's 72 or above outside, only cool air would come out. There wasn't even an option for just a fan to circulate the air, so the room was stuffy and in the upper 70s-80s, which is not a comfortable temperature to sleep in with a down comforter. Third, the walls are paper thin- I'm a light sleeper so I was kept awake by every guest in the hallway and every car in the street, even my fiancé who is a heavy sleeper was kept awake much of the night. But the last straw for me was when housekeeping tried to enter the room without knocking at 8:30. I went to the front desk to complain, and I was told I didn't get to speak to a manager because he/she called out sick and the only thing that would be done was that the manager would have a meeting. A family was at the front desk complaining to the other staff member about the very same thing, and they got the same speech. Then, while packing up to leave at 10:15, housekeeping tried to enter the room again and when I opened the door latch she insisted on knowing when we were leaving. Don't stay here. You won't get any rest and they won't do anything for you. Just pay a bit more to stay somewhere else!
“decent joint”
We enjoyed our stay once we got into our second room. We were caught off gaurd by the $22 dollars a day parking. We had success with street parking. Breakfast was ok by hotel standards. Would stay here again if needed. Staff was hit and miss.
“Surprising!”
Travelling party: 2 adults & 2 children (aged 5 & 6). Location: This hotel is very well situated between Hollywood "city" and Downtown LA. The hotel is literally a 2 minute walk from the Vermont/Santa Monics Blvd Red Line Metro (train) station. Plenty of buses available also which stop in ftont or near the hotel. Transportation: If you are staying for over 1 week, purchase a 7 day metro pass which is good for unlimited rail and bus travel for a total of $20 (alternatively each leg of travel will cost $1.50). There is no cost for children under 5. The Metro is relatively safe (we were travelling with the family at 1am at times). Pre-paid attraction passes: To save time and money purchase a Smart Traveller LA Go Pass. This could potentially save you a lot of money with easy no additional cost to nearly all of the big attractions. Hotel: The hotel is very clean and the reception staff are more than willing to assist your query including no addition cost printing of directions to attractions / locations etc... It is conveniently located near a number of shops and fast food outlets. The rooms are very clean and are serviced daily. While the buffet breakfast is nothing spectacular, it does a fine job of satisfying one's morning hunger wiyh freshly made hot waffles, sausages, eggs, ham, cheeses, cereal, oats, yoghurt, juices, croissants, tea, coffee etc... I would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again. Thank you Hollywood Hotel The Dupre family
“a great place to stay”
this was the 1st hotel we stayed in USA. the rooms were clean and the breakfast very good. it is located 2 min walk from the red line metro and the bus stops. We didnt have a car and saw all the attractions using public transport which was fast, convenient and cheap ++ without hustle of finding or paying for parking. we strongly recommend this hotel. would use it agin if we come back to the states
“okay..”
This is a cheap hotel, but the rooms are run down and ours smelt like wet carpet. The location is ok, but still a bit of a walk to the main attractions.
“Secondary option”
Check in went ok, front desk agent treated us like we were cattle along for the ride.. not greetings or facial movements. The room was clean, a bit plain but clean indeed. Television channels all had lines across the video screen. View from patio looked like a waiting moment to see a drug dealer or prostitute pass by. Hotel Sauna didn't work, waiting for an hour to heat up only to find out it does not work..wondering why they ask you to reserve these? Pool was closed early, not a heated pool and no jacuzi. The best thing about this hotel was breakfast buffet, great food and choices! If you're on a budget and you just want a place to sleep and eat, then chose here!
“Great value”
Probably the most comfortable hotel bed I've ever slept in. Easy access to LA Metro.
