“Very handy to all Santa Monica's highlights”

Had a great stay and would definitely go back. Whilst the hotel and room were beside a busy road, there was little noise at night to disturb sleep. Only recommendation for improvement to the room was to add blockout curtains - sunrise right in my eyes and no way to block it out. Only a short walk to the Pier, bus stops, Sears, shopping promenade, and many restaurants from McDonalds to upscale. Ask for the hotel's recommended limo driver, he's a similar price to a taxi and very knowledgeable. Flat fee fares vs taxis a much better option in LA traffic. Restaurant breakfast good quality and reasonably priced. The pool was closed for reburbishment so not tried. Complimentary computer/printer at reception meant I could webcheck for my flight and print boarding pass, a big advantage when battling LAX queues. Staff from housekeeping to front desk and restaurant were friendly and helpful. Vending machines only take credit cards, a "negative" given the foreign currency fees I would have incurred - instead buy snacks during the day elsewhere. Free wifi meant I could keep in touch with family in Australia.

“convenient”

Good basic service, clean and functioning room. GREAT staff - we forgot to take a valuable upon departure and it was in the lost and found. Staff was very helpful and shipped it to our home (we paid for shipping of course). Thank you again.

Area recommendations

Santa Monica boardwalk and beach, 3rd street promenade retail. All in convenient walking distance.

“Not impressed wished I paid more more the hotel next door”

Rooms were old and didnt feel clean. The minute I opened door to my room, it smelled like dirty socks. I wish we paid a little more for the hotel across the street. Next time we will...didn't complete the picture of a perfect family weekend getaway,

“Great location, not impressed with hotel”

Great location near the Santa Monica pier and 3rd Street Promenade, with the beach, good restaurants, movies, and shopping within easy walking distance. However, hotel elevators were very slow and one was out of service all day; in addition, no separate elevator for hotel staff and cleaning crew. Computer in lobby didn't work properly -- no instructions, no firewall; unable to print boarding passes. Homeless person was playing card games on the computer when I tried to use it, and hotel staff seemed unaware that he had come in off of the street. Curtain rod broke off in room, and carpet seemed damp. Significant charge for parking. Would stay here again, but only for the location.

Area recommendations

I would recommend this area (Santa Monica), due to the beach, amusement park at the pier, restaurants, movies, and shopping, all within easy walking distance. Also convenient to LAX.

“Over Priced”

Location was fiine, but way overpriced. Room was noisy because it was right next to a freeway. I have stayed in much nicer places for a lot less money. Did I mention that is was $28.00 to self park your car?

“Fairly decent hotel to stay at if your gonna hang out in Santa Monica”

Pretty decent hotel. Location of hotel was absolutely perfect. It's walking distance to shops, restaurants, pier, beach, etc. My family and I had a wonderful time and looking forward to coming back again. I wouldn't mind staying in this hotel again. The only thing about the hotel I disliked was the daily parking fees of 27 dollars and no complimentary breakfast. Overall, I am very pleased with our stay and now Santa Monica is one of my favorite cities to visit.

Santa Monica getting very expensive and gone very upmarket. Since last visit now have to pay a lot of money to park car in their car park! Would now have to think twice about going back to SM

“Great location and comfortable!”

Has everything! Pool,restaurant,bar,fitness room and parking garage. Freindly pleasant housekeepers and staff. Only thing I would add ia a jacuzzi!

“Great location”

It is a great location close to the pier and shopping centre. Although the hotel is fairly old it is quite good condition. They had problems with the lifts but it did not cause us much inconvenience as we were not checking in or out at the time. We found in house the breakfast expensive, once bitten twice shy, only used it once. The in house free wyfi was excellent Altogether a very good stay

It is not a large place mostly walkable to the beach the paths and the local shops
