“Long beach Hotel”

“Nice Hotel for a Cheap Price”

This hotel was perfect. It is a large hotel, connected to some sort of office building, so there were lots of people there attending conferences, etc. Even though there were lots of guests, we never had a problem with noise, crowding etc. There were no lines at the desk, it was easy to get an elevator, and we walked right in for breakfast and were seated promptly. The food at breakfast was excellent as well. The rooms were clean and comfortable too. There wasn't an iron in the room, so we called the front desk and they brought one up within about 5 min. We also ordered room service late one night and the food was brought in about 30 min, and everything was hot and delicious. The only snafu we had was with the valet parking. One night we dropped the car off and they took it without giving us a valet ticket or taking any of our info. we didn't realize it until we were in our room, so the next morning it took a while for them to find it. And then, another time, we pulled in and waited for a valet, which we couldn't find, so we had to ask the front desk and they eventually got him back up front. We never heard why he wasn't there, so not sure what the problem was. All in all, the hotel was fantastic.

Area recommendations

Long Beach, CA or anywhere south of Los Angeles. We visited Hollywood, Beverley Hills, etc, which is on the north side of L.A., so we had to fight traffic everyday. If we would have stayed on the north side, it would have been a lot easier for us.

Getting around

Do your research before you go and take a Garmin, Tom-Tom, etc. There is congestion on all the freeways, and the roads are not laid out very well. They also do not believe in street signs apparently. We spent a lot of time sitting in traffic, looking for streets, etc. We wished we would have planned and researched a little better before we got there.

“Awful”

I have been to this hotel twice now. Both times the room had food left in it from previous guests and the bathrooms smelled like marijuana. I would have been better off staying in a cheap motel! Wireless internet is a ridiculous amount a day and no refrigerators. They also ripe you off when it comes to parking as well. The rooms are cheaply decorated and the bedding is awful. I stayed 2 nights and the hotel staff never came in to clean the room while I was out. Don't waste your time or money with this crappy hotel. The only good thing about this hotel is that it is about 2 miles from the beach and is about a 45 minute walk in a fairly safe area.

“good place; nice people”

good place, nice people working there very helpful breakfast was pricy @ $19, drinks were too but we enjoyed ourselves and the seminar was terrific.

Area recommendations

Spent the entire time at the seminar. The aquarium and Queen Mary were close by. I wish we had time to site see.

“Really impressed”

Reserved this hotel due to reading reviews; Very comfortable & has "no noise" floors which we loved! Nice exercise room w/lockers & machines made for women too. Free shuttle was great to have because not convenient to walk to waterfront but easy walk to Pine/Promenade where all the restaurants are or to delis along the way. If shuttle not available, convenient free bus around the downtown areas. Don't need to rent a car. Close to Long Beach airport. Very quiet large rooms for sleeping. Other than business ctr., have big screen computer in lobby to print your boarding passes (very convenient). Nice front desk staff.

Area recommendations

The area around the Hilton felt very safe to us. We missed our bus and decided to walk back from the Promenade area on Oceanview and did not feel unsafe. Had wide sidewalks and enough light to be aware of your surrounding areas. It felt deserted because area was mostly work buildings but it didn't feel unsafe.

“Great stay”

Stayed for 2 nights with my wife. We were in town for a wedding and the hotel worked perfectly. Was in a very convenient location close to many restaurants / bars. Hotel was clean with exceptional service. I reccomend it all the way.

“Great lhotel for going to Catalina”

We were going to spend a day in Catalina and this hotel had the perfect location - it was just a short walk from the downtown landing for the Catalina Express. The rooms were clean and decent. We were also able to park for free at the back of the hotel.

“Long Beach”

Was okay but needed to provide hair conditioner in the rooms....also it would have been nice to know that dogs are allowed in the hotel.

Area recommendations

The pike region...great shopping/close enough to walk. Also would recommend a trip to Catalina.
