It was a terrible experience

Posted 08-Oct-2014
I booked a non-smoking room , but the room smell so terrible , I have to ask to change to a new room right away. I almost got vomit in the room and have to stay outside the door to wait for the new room key. After I changed to room, I was surprised when I got into the new room -- the TV was on , there are some take out food on the table, the bed was obviously opened and someone might have sit/slept on it. I asked to change to the 3rd room. For some unknown reason, the room also smell strangely, but I am too tired after changing 2 rooms , so I just stay with it.

Needs work!

Posted 06-Oct-2014
Pros: Location.
Cons: See above
Desk clerk was rude to start with. Room seemed ok until we got into bed. Sheets were not up to doubletree standards and mattress was spent! Air conditioning and thermostats did not work. Breakfast, which cost $17, was horrible as in not edible. Waffle maker didn't work. Would never stay there again.

Easy access to LAX and also Manhattan Beach

Posted 23-Sep-2014
Pros: Location, comfortable bed, free wifi and free shuttle
Cons: Room outdated and needs a spruce up for the price
Very easy stay. Friendly staff and comfortable room. Hotel is quite outdated and needs a makeover though.

Very saddened

Posted 23-Sep-2014
Pros: Restaurant staff was amazing
Cons: Very dated and dark hotel. Needs updates and brighter decor
I Believe the hotel put us in the worst room ever, Room had no functional bathroom door, air would not shut off, ironing board was broken, water in tub would not drain.

not worth price value

Posted 06-Sep-2014
Pros: free parking
Cons: invest in furniture
torn chair and smelly room, likely from water damage. Stayed in exact same price minus parking at SanDiego Hyatt, with far better furniture.

Very pleasant.

The only complaint is their shuttle service arrangements aren't well explained (nowhere did it say on their online info that a guest had to phone the hotel to get a shuttle sent to the airport, and what if you don't have a phone? There are people who don't, for example, have a SIM card that works in a foreign country.). And the shuttle only goes every half hour and not 24/7.

Smelly room that smelled like urine

Posted 03-Sep-2014
Not so friendly desk clerk, good cookie upon arrival, room smelled like urine, reported the smell to desk and said someone would come freshen room but no one ever came, chairs were torn and dirty looking, bed was comfortable but too narrow for two people to sleep comfortably

Quick check-in and check-out. Clean, well-designed room. Decent bar, nice restaurant. Centrally located for freeway access. Recommended esp. for the business traveler.
