Getting a bit worn out

Posted 19-Apr-2014
Pros: Location is good for meetings at some major corporations
Cons: Polish it back up
Stayed here a year ago for a business trip and were very pleased with service and found the hotel pleasant for this level but this year everything looks a bit worn out and while clean, not sparkling. The restaurant was never top notch but it was always serviceable - yet again the food quality seemed lower and the bar service was a disaster - they were out of all beers but two ultra lights which ran out during the evening, we tried a mojito and a long island tea and both were horrible. The staff last year were real standouts but this year seemed bored and definitely did not go out of their way.

never stay here again

Pros: the cookie was good
Cons: shuttle service,
they advertise a shuttle from lax to hotel, but I couldn't find anywhere on website that gave any details or instructions or that said you must call etc or how to get the shuttle. I came in from overseas arrived at 10 pm and waited over an hour. I had no phone to call the hotel from and there was nowhere visible inside to call the hotel from. I was gonna take a taxi but he didnt want to take me cause it was too close (3 different drivers refused to take me) finally the taxi driver let me call the hotel from his cell phone and they sent their driver. at the hotel the room was on the 2nd floor right over some sort of equiptment that made loud noises all night long! I slept with the heater on (for sound) and earplugs and would be startled to consciousness by a loud screeching sound from the equiptment bands or whatever inside was changing directions. it sounded like a car screeching to a halt etc it was terrible. the cookie the gave me at check in was good though! but for the price I paid it was not worth it at all, i would stay at any of the other lax airport hotels with a shuttle that doesnt have to be called but passed by every 15 min or so!

Double Tree - El Segundo

Posted 21-Mar-2014
Pros: Nice sized room - and warm Chocolate Chip Cookies!
Cons: Ice Machine was up two floors, but right by the elevator...
Location: Not far from the beach or other tourist sites - NOT close to Hollywood or Rodeo Drive....
Great Hotel, awesome room. Great place to end your vacation

I really don't have any complaints just one tiny

Posted 21-Mar-2014
Pros: The staff was great, clean
Cons: The chairs in the rooms are gross
Location: We ate one day at a fish grill, the location fit well for us since we visited venice, santa monica beach and long beach, hollywood too.
The rooms were clean and the stay was nice. I just think they really need to update the chairs and ottoman. Looks very dingy and old, dirty too. Other than that it was nice stay. My boyfriend was not happy about parking in the lots 8th floor when due to a conference there was limited parking. I didn't care :)

Great Experience

Posted 18-Mar-2014
Pros: Location and room comfort.
Cons: The free room internet service was not consistent. Sometimes, you would have to login multiple times to receive free service.
Location: Location was perfect. It was close to major freeways, beaches and LAX. The area is a office park, so it was very safe.
The last time I stayed at this hotel was 10 years ago. It is still a nice, clean property. The service and the location was great. I had forgotten how close it was to local beaches, major freeways and LAX. I would stay here again.

It was okay!

Posted 10-Mar-2014
Pros: Central location to a lot of things we wanted to see and do.
Cons: Change dinner menu in the dining room, not a great selection!
The hotel was okay and the room wasn't bad, however, the bathroom door didn't close and wasn't fixed when we put a request in.

Nice enough

Posted 25-Feb-2014
Cons: The shuttle service.
Once we arrived at the hotel it was nice enough. It kind of appears to be in the middle of nowhere but if you walk about 2 blocks there's quite a few restaurants, a grocery store, etc. Arriving to the hotel, however, was more challenging. It has a free shuttle but you have to call once you get to airport to ask it to come and they won't dispatch it until you are at the blue or red or whatever it is pickup zone (meaning you can't use a pay phone from inside). We had to call several times (about 6, totalling 15 minutes of ringing and messages) before we got through to the hotel to dispatch the shuttle, which was really frustrating as we flew in from Canada and each call we made was long distance. Once we got to the hotel everything was clean and nice. The only other downside is that the hotel continental breakfast is almost 20$ per person and it's equivalent to a free continental breakfast that you can find at some hotels.

I hope you took the shuttle in

Cons: Room 315 the shower leaks all night long. Can't be good in water stricken California.
I love most Doubletree by Hiltons. However, this particular hotel has 7 floors full of guests. The parking lot has maybe 25 stalls, in which 20 of them are occupied by hotel employees. There is a parking garage across the street, but I was told to ONLY park on the top 2 floors. The hotel is not in a bad area, however, having to drive up 8 floors in an empty parking garage, taking the elevator and walking across the street can't be safe 100% of the time. The cookies were warm though

I stay there twice a year for workshops.

Posted 18-Feb-2014
Pros: It's convenient for me because the workshops are conducted there. I also like that the location is in a more remote area with little outside sounds.
Cons: The beds and the airconditioning.
Location: There are places you can walk to to get food and if you drive a ways, you can get to a mall.
Usually the beds are very bad on my back, but this time it was better. Their airconditioners are either on or off, heat or cooling. They are extremely loud so if you don't like the noise coming on and off all night, don't stay there.
