“Great location”

Lovely hotel, good sized room with separate lounge area. Good location, easy walking distance to Santa Monica Blvd and Sunset Blvd. Also walking distance to Beverley centre for good shopping (if you don't mind a good 30 minute walk in the heat!) The Belmont Cafe on N La Cienega Blvd is well worth a visit. Great atmosphere, good food and good value for money. Good base for a drive out to the Griffith Observatory, we did this both during the day and at night. It gets very busy, so be prepared to walk a distance from where you park the car.

Area recommendations

West Hollywood is great for having a walk around, visiting some restaurants up on Sunset Blvd and spotting all the amazing cars that drive up and down! Called into the Olive bar one night and The Kooks were sat at the bar...... fab! :o)

“Loved the Chamberlin”

The Chamberlain was a hotel i had to book last minute and i'm glad i did. The service was amazing and the staff supremely helpful. The hotel had style and character. The only down fall was the the air con didn't pump enough cold air through the room and it was hot when i stayed in LA. Also room service closes to early (11pm) and to park your car was to much.

“Chamberlai West Hollywood”

I loved the hotel. Parking was $32/day which was a lot and upon arrival I was informed that I needed to pay $400 upfront as a "deposit." Thank god I had it. I had called in advance to make sure I had everything I need and they said nothing of a deposit. Besides that it was a good location and the rooftop pool is really great.

“Hollywoods lil boutique!”

Loved it! Great service and great hotel! Althoughnot central to those on foot its still a little escapade away from the loud LA! Spacious and clean the staff there are great! Plus the pool is not overcrowded like other LA hotels! Come if you want great service and to escape the LA crowds! :)

“Lovely Hotel, Great Location”

This was a great mid price hotel in a great location. A walk up to "The Strip" takes minutes and the hotel can offer a wide range of services. We took the Stars Homes tour for example and it was great. We were picked up and dropped off at the hotel. Other trips are less value and I would advise driving to Universal Studios (and pay for premium parking you will still be quids in!) Car Park was $35 per night but the car ( A must in LA) was always available. One minor criticism was one suite given to us was designed for wheelchair access and was not compariable with the other room in terms of size or features. This hotel is highly recommended and the view from the roof top pool must not be missed - it is stunning!

Area recommendations

We only went to Hollywood really and it was great! Everything you imagin it to be! We had great fun star spotting and going along with our tour guide that "we are always seeing X about!" The chinese theatre is well worth it as well. Highlight of any trip must be to go to Universal Studios. Go for when it opens (9 am ) pay for premium parking (an extra $5) and go straight to the studio tour since queues later will be long!) it was worth every penny of the $77 each we paid. Don;t be suckered into the all you can eat deal - it isn;t worth it but the food on the avenue outside is good value. We also did a tour of the stars homes which in an open top minibus was great! Lots of fun with a signing guide who was obviously a child of the 60's!

“Art deco at a reasonable price”

The Chamberlain is easily missed because it doesn't have the typical hotel look and feel. The name on the building is hardly visible that the taxi driver drove by it twice. The lobby is tiny but the room size is extremely generous. If you are looking for the feel of a busy hotel ( which I typically Like) then this is not the place for you. But the size of the rooms make it a worth investment. We had a room with two queen beds and a completely separate seating area. Very large rooms with spacious bathrooms and decorated nicely. Cons: there are only two drawers in the entire room for clothing and when you have two people sharing a room, that is hardly enough. The rooms are also very dark. The lighting could be made much brighter to give the room a less dark appearance, we were not fans of how dark it was. The shower head was horrible. It clearly needed to be cleaned as water was only shooting out of a few of the spouts and then when we asked that it be fixed, they adjusted it so that the water shot out so hard that it actually hurt and was impossible to shower without it spraying in every direction. Overall, it is a very well priced boutique hotel for a very nice sized room. The issues we had wouldnt deter me from staying there although I would probably choose to stay somewhere a little closer to walking areas in the future.
