“Not too bad”

Hotel wae fine - just make sure you don't get a ground floor room. I moved to the top floor after 30mins as it was extremely noisy. Also, paper thin walls don't help (even on top floor). Overall, quite nice.

“Exactly what I was looking for”

On my return to the USA from New Zealand I was looking for a hotel to rest up in before completing my trip home to the Midwest. I liked this hotel for that purpose. I could get room service delivery quickly, a fast return on laundry services, and a clean and comfortable room. Caught up on my sleep, repacked my bags, and was well treated before the last leg of my journey home.

“Always a good deal”

My wife and I have stayed in this hotel at least 24 nights over the past 18 months. The rooms are always clean and the services provided by the front desk and the room maintenance are reliable. The hotel staff are pleasant people to work with. This is really a three star hotel in a convenient location to take a shuttle to the third street promenade. I enjoy the free parking, IHOP, and close proximity to Wilshire and Montana avenues and Santa Monica Beach.

For a lower priced hotel it was fantastic, well done Best Western.

Area recommendations

3rd Prominade. Also you cannot run from Venice beach to Manhattan beach unless you go around the marina so if you are a runner it takes around 2.5hrs...grrr

Stay anywhere in Santa Monica, but be sure to do some touring of the rest of LA.

Shopping

The Citadel Outlet store is really nice - we spent a large chunk of change there! It's a bit of a distance from Santa Monica, but worthwhile.

Outdoors or beach

A stroll to the Santa Monica Pier is a must and the views from the wheel are pretty cool. A long walk to Venice Beach is also good for some entertainment.

“Great hotel, friendly staff, ok location”

Would definitely recommend this hotel for the condition, the friendliness of the staff, and the free shuttle bus they put on to the beach. It's not far from a decent Irish bar and a couple really great restaurants, and IHOP is right outside. Would probably stay a little closer to the beach next time though as we spent most of our time down at the promenade where the cool bars and food joints are. Getting to a hop on hop off bus stop was also a pain, although if you pay more you can picked up direct from the hotel on another service

Santa Monica pier area - really cool shopping and food mall called the Market and next to a big street called the Promenade with cool shops, bars and restaurants. There is an awesome sports bar with pool tables that does good food too.

“Very dissapointed by the services athe desk and the cleaning of the room”

I stayed twice before and enjoyed it but will not do it again, the service at the desk is very poor especially in the evening and the room was done only late afternoon and was not cleaned properly.
