Disappointed on Sunset Strip

Posted 02-May-2015
Pros: Location
Cons: Maintenance and the parking operation.
The description and photos looked great but that didn't tell the whole story. The parking was either valet (a hassle) or self park with no in and out privileges. Our room was next to the elevators which we could hear all night. And speaking of the elevators, there were only two for 13 floors and one was broken down on our last day. Guests waited for up to 15 minutes for an elevator. The exit stair doors were alarmed so we were all forced to wait each time we came or went. Oh, and the ice maker on our floor did not work .

L.A. Weekend

Pros: Location Price Cool, hip, vibe
Cons: I think they want to be a hip five star vibe but the
We chose this hotel based on the "Andaz" reputation and location on Sunset. Check in was efficient with more of a center kiosk approach. Complimentary wine was offered upon arrival. We had a King Room with city view and it was pretty sparse in decor. Bathroom was very small but clean. Not easy to navigate with two people. All the former patio's on this hotel which was formerly known as the "Riot Hyatt" due to the craziness that took place there with all the rockers during the 80's and 90's, have all been enclosed and the space serves as an extra seating area. Room Service was spotty on Sunday and took forever, and the said we would not have to pay for the meal. However, the charge was still on our bill at check out and took a while to get figured out. Rooftop pool is cool, beautiful views of the city and there is a bar up there as well. Overall it was fine but I would probably stay elsewhere next time I am in L.A.

Nice hotel in West Hollywood

Posted 13-Apr-2015
My husband and two teenage children stayed there over spring break. We vacation a lot. The staff was very pleasant. We requested an early check in as we were arriving from the airport and when we got there at 11:00 am our room was ready. It was very clean and the pool on the roof top was enjoyable after a long day. Also, they leave goodies in the room (water, chips, soda, breakfast bars) coffee and cookies at breakfast and have wine at happy hour in the lobby. It's the little things that mean so much and I wish more hotels were like the Andaz!

Close to everything.

Pros: The rooftop pool was amazing! Food was excellent. I loved the Free wine in the evening (nice touch). Staff was professional and attentive.
Cons: I would have liked a better view, but nothing was available with two Queen beds. The charge for vallet was a surprise (I didn't read the fine print).
Location: Farmers Market, Walk of Fame, Universal Studios.
I loved the location. It was great to stay on Sunset and be close to: Walk of fame Farmers Market Rodeo

Great place to stay

Posted 09-Apr-2015
Pros: Not often I say this, but everything was good. The bar is a bit pricey as is the food - but you can work around that and its LA for goodness sake. You
Cons: all perfect
Location: Mels diner is decent value and typical American food. Chin Chin restaurant is awful - avoid. Right next door is steak house worth a visit.
This is a fantastic hotel. Good location to see the sights. Visited over Easter holidays with wife and my 2 teenagers. Rooms are spacious and you get a good night's rest on comfy beds. Hotel has many nice touches to make this a memorable stay. All soft drinks and snacks in rooms are free an topped up daily - same in lobby. At breakfast time plenty of free tea and coffee in lobby - next door Starbucks can keep you going till you find a diner. Good location for bus routes and helpful lobby staff will direct you. A really good touch is the free wine tasting every evening between 5pm and 7pm in the lobby. Basically drink as much as you want and the wine is decent as well. Will definitely stay here again.
