Location is fantastic and the best thing was being able to swim directly from the rocks at the bottom of the steps leading down from the hotel in crystal blue waters. Amazing sunsets too. However the hotel is a bit tatty and needs to be freshened up, paint was peeling off doors, bathroom shelf was falling off, sockets coming off walls, rattly air con, missing lightbulb in our room when we arrived etc Most staff only speak Italian, some a bit of German, only one person spoke English so it was hard to get help. By far the worst thing was that you had to pay an 80 Euro surcharge for 'use of the pool and beach'. Why not just include this in the price? The pool staff used the pool area as their own personal disco every day, blaring loud music while they were there for 3 hours each morning and 3 hours each evening and throwing each other in the pool. The pool bar could really do with being done up as it's an amazing pool and view and could be so much better. Would still recommend this hotel for the location, view and proximity to Santa Teresa town although you must have a bike or car to get around, only 8 minutes driving to town.
If you're looking for a holiday that you can relax completely, then this is the one for you. Although Blue Corner is slightly in the middle of no-where and takes approx. an hours drive from the airport ( by car ), it's one of the most beautiful places I've ever been. Surrounded by farm brush / wood land and so unbelievably quiet, with it's own private sandy beach literally 2 mins walk down the road, Blue Corner is a must if you want to experience true and untouched Sardinia. Marco the owner is one of the most friendly and helpful people you will ever meet. He speaks more than a handful of languages, so there is not a problem with translation. The actual apartments themselves could do with a bit of updating, as the décor and fixings are a bit tired, but saying that, they serve their purpose perfectly. I will definitely be visiting again.
A hill-top hotel with spectacular views of the Maddalena Archipelago, not for the unfit unless you hire a car. Good mostly buffet food, many choices of anti-pasti, freshly-made pasta and rice, fish, barbecue and roasts/grills. Good breakfast buffet. Very friendly informative restaurant and reception staff. The sanguine and slightly sardonic 'Maitre' ruled the Restaurant, a difficult job. Best to book half board if you want to be sure of a table outside with an amazing view.
Hotel offered good minibus to an amazing beach, 500 yds of sand and clear blue sea, and there was a publc bus to other lovely beaches to the west and east. Also frequent ferries from the delightfully unspoilt port of Palau #no chain restaurants, good fish and pizza places and a market most nights# to La Maddalena which linked to six other islands, one an old Wightlink ferry with english signs still in situ inside! Otherwise we came accross little english, hearing mostly italian and some french and spanish. Numerous boat day trips on offer round the islands in the port.
Beautiful hotel pool spoilt by loud music during the day, this was OK at night in the Children's Disco, but sometimes went on a bit late and we had to move from our first room opposite the pool due to the noise, no fuss was made and we were very happy with our second room 'round the back' where we could sit out undisturbed.
Treat yourself to a trip on the 'Trenino Verde' a glimpse of the real interior of Sardinia, and a good day out.
