Good location, about 25 minutes from everything in every direction except the city (more like an hour). Hard bed, had some issues with things working in the room, but they got fixed immediately! Would recommend.

Pros: The room was clean and comfortable. Its location off the expressway was convenient.
Cons: Update the facilities. And keep them up once updated.
Location: We visited family and friends all over Long Island. From Long Beach to Mastic Beach. We especially enjoyed Lombardi's Gourmet grocery in Holbrook.
Hotel was in a convenient location right off the expressway. My husband and I were quite disappointed when we pulled in. The hotel did not appear kept up. The whole time we were there, a week, the sliding entrance doors did not close all the way. The second thing we noticed when we got out of the car was the smell by the entrance doors. The odor was perhaps the garbage can in the front not being emptied, nor cleaned. The next thing we noticed was the lobby. It could use some updating. Outdated furniture and decor. We were greeted by friendly, helpful staff. The room itself was clean, smelled fresh. My husband felt the bed was extremely comfortable. The bathroom was clean, towels were white and fluffy, tub was clean. The third floor hallway was hot the whole week We felt that the hotel did not know what direction it wanted to be. The room was comfortable and clean and the facilities themselves were in disrepair.

Sad,sorry place.

Pros: Leaving.
Cons: See above
The musty odor greeted me at the sliding door, which didn't fully close. I wasn't expecting a four star place given reviews I'd read, but a fridge and microwave would have helped. None of the ice machines worked. The holder for the coffee pod was missing in my room and when I asked the person at the front desk for one, he stated that no one from maintenance was in yet, but I could buy a cup from the restaurant. The clerk never once looked at me or even faked to be concerned about it. Did get my coffee without charge, but really? I later asked another clerk to fix the problem and upon my return later that night, it hadn't been resolved! Other than that, the room developed an odor and the place was just run down. They really just need to get the wrecking ball and start over again with a more professional staff. Just have to chalk it up to one of those experiences.

Fulfilled our need

Posted 10-Jul-2014
Pros: I liked that it had a restaurant adjacent to the hotel and a short distance from our destination. We had dinner when we arrived and breakfast in the.
Cons: It needs updating and a coat of paint in some areas.
Location: We cannot suggest things to do as we did not come for a vacation.
The front desk were courteous. Our room was clean however the foyer lights did not work. We reported this and they arranged for an employee to fix the lights. This is an average hotel that served our purpose.

Pros: This hotel was decorated beautifully, in my price range and location that I needed.
Cons: Properly finished construction jobs- ventilation of baths should out weigh decorations/Materials -put more into customer comfort
Location: First time visitors; we found The County Fair Entertainment Park, and The Bayard Cutting Arboretum by the river were great on a hot day.
I don't typically give negative reviews, so I'll try to be gentle. Although the hotel was recently updated with top grade decorations and materials, the construction work seemed to be done by someone less than professional. For all that was spent on it's lovely furnishings, some important things were over looked. For instance the bath in my room: It did have two light switches that turned on two separate lights (one of which was an unfinished installation) and the vent was not attached to either one. Mildew/mold was already growing on the ceiling. Also the tub and it's fixtures were old and the new marble tiles surrounding them didn't fit properly around the old faucet, leaving it with parts that were gaping open in to the wall. You can clearly see the markings on the nice wall paper for the switch plates, mirrors and such. The beautiful granite tiles on the floor of the bath didn't not fit around the toilet as they should, leaving an inch or more of grout in an odd shape at the base of the reused toilet. Had the room not had such nice decorations/materials, I may not have noticed these things as well as other cosmetic issues of this nature. Other than that the beds were ok but very squeaky. Again, I don't like to complain, I also don't like seeing someone do cosmetic upgrades (that aren't done correctly) at the expense of their customers' comfort/safety.

Going for price

Posted 05-Jul-2014
Pros: staff, especially desk clerk
Cons: facilities need updating
Location: We had a great time exploring the North Shore, which was accessible by car.
The hotel was a little shabby, with worn carpeting and other evidence of age. We chose it for the location and price, which worked out okay, and the staff was very good. But if nice facilities are the goal, we'd go for a little more money next time around.

Renovations Underway

Posted 29-Jun-2014
I stayed for a week, and the first floor smelled like old mold and had a very dark hallway. There isn't a fridge or microwave in the rooms, so you are forced to eat out. The attached bar/grill is ok, but ended up going to the local Applebee's/TGI Fridays for food. There are laundry services that guests can you use, which you must pay for with a debit/credit card. Their gym is small, with a couple of weights and decade old treadmills, and seated bicycle. The second floor was better lighted than the first. The lobby has some water which they only fill daily. When I checked in the staff was busy talking to her friend when she noticed me. Other times the staff wasn't available even after waiting a couple of minutes and saying "hello, is anyone available to help me?" I would not stay here again.
