“serves its purpose”

Check in was simple & quick. Room was clean and all the lamps were working properly. It was clean. TV was old but worked OK, and there was free HBO. But heater was very noisy and there was an overall hum coming from some device in the hallweay. Bathroom was clean and there was a hair dryer and enough towels. Check out was simple as well On balance it was OK, not luxurious.. Plenty of parking makes it a positive exxperience.

Area recommendations

We were only stayingo overnite to avoid traffic on Thanksgiving.. The rest has no relevance

What to pack

The basic: Toothbrush, toothpaste,, change of underwear Hairbrush, Razon, shave cream, after shave, small flashlight, plastic bag for dirty undies,pills if needed. hand cleanter, pen, personal phone book, ear plugs (just in case) tissue, extra glasses...........and your outfit for the next day if only staying overnight. Otherwise enough socks and underwear. Don't bother with soap or shampoo

“Motel, not Hotel lacks privacy and comfort”

All of the rooms windows face eachother to the parking lot so you hear everything from cars pulling in to people walking into the lobby checking in or for parties etc. The room is really small and the furniture overloaded its size making it annoying to move around. The only reason why I would stay here again is because its one of the only hotels on long island that will accommodate my 2 large dogs. If they weren't

“not so bad”

this is a nice hotel....its a littel run down and the wallpaper on the walls shows signs of possible water damage but it wasn't "run away screaming" bad...its location to the LIRR is fantastic- just a few feet away- and the area it is located in is easy to get to and the neighborhood is really beautiful with lots of good to great eateries...I have already recommended it to freinds that are going up to New York City next month.

Area recommendations

Rockville Center is a great place to stay, especially when planning to go into NYC...its a 45 min train ride on the LIRR....overall a very clean and safe area

“Very good location.”

When we come to the city with a car, we like to stay as close to the city as possible. This motel was located next to one of the stops on the LIRR, so this was the deciding factor for us. We were able to leave our car in the motel's parking lot, grab a train ticket arriving at Penn Station, and spend the day in the city. Off peak tickets are very reasonable. The rooms were always clean. They have a refrigerator and microwave at no extra charge, and with a grocery store open 24/7 in the next block, this is very nice! The motel offers a continental breakfast for four hours, but get there early otherwise you won't get the hot food. Most of the desk clerks are very helpful. We definitely would stay here again!

“OK, but did not get expected room”

When we arrived there was quite a wait time to check-in due to another guest's issue at the front desk. Finally, we were not able to get the smoking room we wanted, it was not yet clean. So we took another room. The room was clean and comfortable.

Area recommendations

Jones Beach Theatre - wonderful place to see a show. The beach is also gorgeous!
