Arrived in town late and was going to leave early. Toulet needed to be pumped to be flushed the mattresses was shot and the smell of the room was interesting to put it nicely

Terrible customer service. Husband slept on floor

Posted 05-Nov-2014
Pros: Location only
Cons: For above the odds paying customers regardless of time of year Travelodge needs to be more accomodating
Location: Halloween is excellent in Derry every year. I would however avoid this opportunistic money grabbing Travelodge if you can.
A double room was booked through Expedia for 2 adults and one child. Upon arrival we were allocated a room with only one double bed. Staff at reception were not one bit helpful and did not even try to resolve this obvious mistake on their behalf. They did not offer a room change, extra bed or even extra bed covers for which could be put on the floor. My husband therefore had to sleep on the floor without any extra comfort. After paying a ridiculous amount of money for two nights in a Travelodge, (I could have got two nights with the Spa at Galgorm for the same price) I am sorely disappointed. There wasn't even an offer of complimentary breakfast. I will not be returning, I will not be recommending this hotel and I will go out of my way to turn friends, family and staff away from the Travelodge in Derry.

Poor hotel great staff

Hotel staff where very nice and accommodating also. Hotel was poor in need of drastic make over. Bed was comfortable and tv works so that was a plus. However bathroom was very poor shower head was dirty I could not use it. Bathroom was not up to standard at all. Would not recommend the hotel. Will not be staying here again

The hotel needs refurbishment. The staff were very frendly and the location is excellent. Compaired to other travelodge hotels this one is poor but refurbishment will make all the difference,

Visit to Derry for Clipper Round The World Race

Posted 01-Jul-2014
Pros: Friendliness of the staff. Good value for money.
Cons: Other reviewers have noted that the decoration is in need of renewal. I would agree with this but this did not deter from our experience.
Location: Very convenient for the City and the River Foyle. We found carparking in the adjacent Quayside Car Park to be very convenient, but at an extra cost.
The location of the Travel Lodge was perfect for both the River Foyle Marina and for the City centre. One member of our party had her flight changed by the airline at the last minute and needed an additional night. We also had difficulty printing our boarding cards for the return flights. The staff were exceptionally helpful in sorting these problems out for us.

Much better tha typical Travelodge

The hotel was really neat, my room was larger than typical travel lodge hotels. Staff were very good at service, even stayed up for my arrival at 2.00am. Much pleased.

Odd layout and not very hospitable

Posted 06-May-2014 on Hotels.com
In a busy part of the Strand Road. Nowhere to pull in to drop off or pick up passengers. Rooms on the front are very noisy. Weird and confusing internal layout, with part floors on different levels. We were led to our room by a hotel employee and had to drag cases up several short flights of stairs. Why couldn't we use the elevators? Never did discover. Only one person on the desk, who couldn't offer much service. Free internet in lobby, but you have to pay for it by the day in the bedroom. "Continental" breakfast is extra. The rooms are comfortable, and a decent size, but I wouldn't stay there again unless I had no choice.

not fancy but great location

Great location. Very close to a lot of pubs and peace bridge. Less than 5 min walk to stone wall city core and to bloody sunday memorial. Rooms where large. Parking across the street for 2 euro. Would stay again.
