Comfortable, quiet, clean hotel in heart of London

Posted 19-Apr-2014
Pros: Comfortable, clean, very central, safe. Has everything you need. Not dated as some hotels in this price range are in London.
Location: In Westend, close to theatres, restaurants, bars, Convent Garden, Trafalgar Square, Nat Portrait Gallery, Leicester Square half price ticket booths.
I stayed here for two nights on my way back to Australia after attending a conference in Oxford. As a sole traveller the hotel felt very safe. It was also comfortable, clean and not outdated as a number of other London hotels in this price bracket are. The room had all the amenities I needed and reasonable well laid out. In a very central part of London close to many tourist attractions and amenities. The hotel also has FREE internet !!! The only downside is that it isn't super close to a tube station. The closest ones are about 5 blocks away: Charing Cross, Leicester Square, Temple. This is fine in the day time, but not ideal late at night though this area seems to be very safe. Also, all 3 stations aren't great if you have luggage. Too many stairs/lack of lifts. But that is a common problem with London tube stations. The hotel is on the Strand so there are many buses. That might be a better public transport option sometimes but I didn't use them.

Nice place in a great location

Posted 10-Apr-2014
Pros: Location. Friendly and helpful staff made some good food and shopping recommendations. Clean.
Cons: Thin walls. Heard the neighbor snore while I was trying to sleep. Multiple days we were awoke by neighbors talking/closing doors early in the morning.
Location: Charing Cross station and Trafalgar Square in one direction, Big Ben and London Eye in another direction, and some great local pubs, etc. all around.
Thoroughly enjoyed our ten nights in London and appreciated the convenience and cleanliness of this hotel. It's really close to the Charing Cross station and Trafalgar Square so that was great. The room was smaller than I expected but not uncomfortably so, and everything was clean and well taken care of. We used this room as our base and took side trips to Cardiff, Liverpool, and Stonehenge. The hotel was nice enough to where we started thinking of it as returning "home" when we would come back from a long day of taking in the city. The only negative was that the walls are ridiculously thin. I could literally hear our neighbor snoring through the wall next to me while I was trying to sleep. We had a couple of days where our neighbors were talking at around 6am (before we were planning to get up) and we could hear every word they said and every door they opened and shut. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and made some great food and shopping recommendations.

Good hotel, close to the Opera House

Posted 06-Apr-2014
Pros: Its location for the opera and other places to visit e.g. National Gallery
Cons: The layout of the room for breakfast
Location: as above
We have stayed here on a number of occasions as it is close for us to walk to the Opera House. This visit was a good one having been disappointed the last time we stayed. As requested they made sure the room was on a higher floor to avoid noise. All staff are friendly and efficient. The only slight disappointment was that we ordered a newspaper for the next morning but as was the case the last time, it did not arrive. It is always very busy at breakfast time and the tables are very close together

Nice hotel, near to Central London land marks.

Posted 04-Apr-2014
Clean well presented rooms and the bed was very comfortable. Poor view from the window as it looked straight into other hotel rooms but as it is Central London we didn't expect much else. Nice smelling toiletries provided in the rooms. Overall a good stay and would stay again due to it's very handy location.
