Great location

Pros: Please refer above, location and ambience were the key factors in enjoying our stay.
Cons: The water from the shower was not hot enough but we did not make any complaint as we spent so little time in our room!
Location: Close to Green Park tube, shopping in New Bond Street, easy walk to Regent Street. Breakfast in Shepherd's Market, Mayfair.
Special trip to London to celebrate my 50th, which therefore deserved a smart hotel. Fantastic location, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Picadilly, yet really close to Green Park tube. Great American bar, which was packed on Friday with the early door drinkers. Room small but smart, bed very comfortable. Concierge staff friendly and helpful in a quiet, unassuming manner.

The Stafford was a very nice hotel. It was highly convenient to the Green Park stop on the Piccadilly Line. The staff was very attentive.

Near Perfection

Our room, while small, was luxurious and well appointed. Complimentary mini bar items were a nice surprise. Lounge areas were inviting and comfortable. The American Bar was a reliable choice for late night, light meals. Very accommodating staff.

Over Priced, small room with mini bathroom , no views at all, don't even think about sleeping past 07.00, as the rooms do not have sound proofed doors, and each and every sound can be heard from the comfort of your bed. Fellow guests opening and closing their doors becomes a regular and vivid sound track to your mornings. Accompanied by the toilet cistern that took an age to refill, and so produced a back ground sound of constant running water, from within the confines of the tiny, outdated bathroom, that offered luke warm water for an age until it eventually ran hot. The staff were pretentious and snobby , but not shy at all especially when adding descesionary service charges. High priced, limited choice breakfast, most scant buffet breakfast I have encountered in many a year , been there. paid the bill in full but be warned it's a rip off from the moment you step over the threshold with much better, more reasonably priced hotels within a stones throw.

Awesome concierge staff. Most helpful. Great room service. Lived the anniversary champagne. Did not like payin 20 francs for 2 diet cokes that were supposed to be complimentary in the minibar (which we left!!). Great food!

The public space is better than the private rooms

Posted 03-Jan-2014
Pros: Our favorite thing about the hotel was its good location and excellent staff.
Cons: The bathrooms need serious upgrading.
Location: It is very close to the Green Park Tube Station, Buckingham Palace and Fortnum and Mason.
The hotel is very well located in London. It is walking distance to the Green Park Tube Station, Buckingham Palace and Fortnum and Mason. The staff couldn't have been more accommodating. The first floor has a bar which is very nice and the food was ok. The problem with the hotel is the room we were in was very tiny and the bathroom was not very user friendly. The tub was so high it was hazardous climbing in and out of the shower, the toilet flush did not work well and the lighting was, overall, not sufficient to put on make-up, dry your hair, or even read in the room. When we complained, the staff showed us several other rooms we could up grade to, but while those rooms were bigger, and a few even had gas fireplaces in the suites, the bathroom set up was the same throughout. If the hotel upgraded the bathrooms and modernized the lighting, I would say it would be a lovely hotel.

Great Location.

Pros: In the heart of London with lots of traffic, the hotel is in a cul de sac which shields it from the noise. A subway and many good restaurants nearby
Cons: In-room hot pot to make coffee or tea. The hallways are a bit noisy with guests coming and going.
Location: Location could not have been better, near Buckingham Palace, Hyde Park, and walking distance to great shopping and museums. Would stay there again.
We were about to be disappointed with the hotel upon our arrival as our room was not ready, but the hotel staff were so pleasant that we were soon mollified. They gave us a nice tour of the hotel and its facilities, and assured us that or room would be available as quickly as possible once the current guests had checked out. And they were true to their word. The room, though small was pleasant, with an outlet for US electronics, free wi-fi, plush robes, heated towels, and quick to respond to requests, in our case a non-slip bath mat. It is a very pleasant place to stay.
