The Perfect Mayfair Hotel

Posted 19-Sep-2013
Pros: It's "American Bar" which has great decor, a friendly atmosphere and good food.
Cons: My room size (a single) was a little tight for space.
I've stayed at most of the hotels on or just off Piccadilly and Green Park, but none with as good a combination of location, facilities and service as The Stafford Kempinski. I loved it's proximity (through narrow tunnel-like lane way to Green Park), its courtyard Yankees, and mews workout room, and of course my own room in the main building. The greeting and briefing by reception staff was exceptional.

This hotel is magnificent. Steps from the tube and central to many sites, you have every ting you need close by. The staff is professional and warm our room was very well appointed and the bed comfortable. I would not hesitate to stay again or to recommend to friends!

Just Lovely.

Posted 15-Sep-2013
Pros: Facilities, location, staff. We like to walk, so on different days we were able to walk to each of the locations listed below.
Cons: I have no complaints at all.
Location: We walked to: Buckingham Palace, Picadilly Circus, British Museum, London Eye, Westminster Abbey, St. Paul's, Churchill Museum, Harrods, Hyde Park.
This hotel is a gem. Located just off Green Park and a short walk to Buckingham Palace or the Green Park tube station, it is a convenient location. Best of all, our room was lovely and the staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. I look forward to returning the next time we visit London.

Overnight in London

Posted 12-Sep-2013
Pros: Everything!
Location: It is within walking distance of Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, Parliament, the London Eye, and most other must-see sights of London.
We had an overnight layover in London on our flight from Prague. Instead of staying at the airport, we chose to stay in the city. (London is my favorite city in the whole world.) We wanted to stay in a hotel within walking distance of the main sights of London and be able to walk in St. James Park and Green Park past Buckingham Palace. I found the Stafford Hotel on the internet, and it seemed to be just perfect for our brief stay. The hotel surpassed my expectations in every way. We walked through St. James Park to view the Churchill War Rooms, past Buckingham Palace, through Green Park, and back to the hotel for a glass of wine and fish and chips in the American Bar. It was a very short stop, but reminded me that London is still my favorite city. The hotel is charming, the staff so pleasant and helpful, and the location perfect! We plan on staying again on our next trip to London, and just hope we have more time. We recommend it highly.

Welcome To London!

Posted 08-Sep-2013
Pros: Location. A/C.
Great location from Green Park Underground Station (non-stop to/from both Chunnel/train station & Heathrow). Walkable to almost everything (more than 3 miles from the hotel, we took the tube and again, it was a great location with Piccadilly & Victoria lines).

Decent hotel in central London

Posted 25-Jul-2013
Pros: Staff and room service
Cons: 1. It has no swimming pool 2. Limited restaurant choice and the food was terrible 3. Room AC was not working and it a day for them to fix it
Location: This is great location.
It is very close to everything and the hotel staff is very friendly and helpful but this should not be a 5 star hotel for the following reasons: 1. It has no swimming pool 2. Limited restaurant choice and the food was terrible 3. Room AC was not working and it a day for them to fix it

Pamper Yourself

Posted 17-Jul-2013
Pros: The extreme service and pampering.
Cons: Furniture and carpets were way too Los. The looked dingy.
Location: A few blocks away had bustling streets with shops and resturants. It was close to a metro but the short cut gat closed early and we had to walk.
We stayed at the Staddord for 5 days. The staff couldn't have been nicer. We arrived early and they got us into a room right then. The location was good, not great. I wished we we a little further east, but we were near a metro station and park. The room was way too small. There was no place to unpack and no place to leave your suitcase to get to your clothes. Aisle space was cramped! The bed was out of this world wonderful and the housekeeping service was over the top. Each night we has a little town on the floor with slippers ready for us. Waters were placed out too. The carpeting was clean but very old. Same with the furniture. It gave it a dingy look, however did smell clean. I would have preferred more space and not so shabby furniture. But the bed was like sleeping on a cloud.

Great hotel for charm and location.

Posted 21-May-2013
Pros: The American bar, the excellent breakfast, and the helpful staff.
Cons: Room size a bit tight and very inconsistent WiFi connection.
Location: Excellent location if you want to be near shopping, theaters, the Palace, and Piccadilly.
Beautiful hotel in a central location offering consistently great service.
