“Mad Hatter”
Good location at a reasonable price. Lovely big room. Would definately go back
“Excellent and very good for Tate Modern”
Very good and friendly
“Excellent”
This is a small hotel, but has charm and all the style and service of a large hotel, i will be coming back to stay here again.
“Great location to visit the city”
This is a really nice hotel in a perfect location in which to visit the city's sights. 2 mins from Blackfriars Bridge and only 5 mins from the London Eye. The hotel was relatively cheap and the food was very good. Would definitely stay there again. Highly recommended.
“You will love the food!!!”
The Mad Hatter's Hotel is a great place to stay if you are on a business trip around the Waterloo Station area. The wireless internet works great, there is a trouser press and a nice bathroom with all the toiletries that you would expect. The nicest thing is the resturant/bar downstairs where they serve some great pies - vension, steak and mushroom, etc. With a cold glass of bar, it makes a great end to the day. Highly recommended and good value for money at the GBP70-90 price mark.
“More of an Inn than Premier Inn”
This is a welcoming hotel situated on the South Bank near Blackfriars bridge. Its rates are reasonable, more in line with a Premier Inn but it doesn't feel quite so perfunctory. There is a nice quiet pub on the ground floor where you have breakfast in the morning (which was very nice BTW). The only downside was the busy road outside but that is quite normal for central London.
“Ideal hotel”
We stayed in the hotel for our anniversary, the location was great for enjoying walks along the embankment. Meals were first class all the staff were friendly and courteous at all times. Will deffinately stay here again.
“Good Value”
Good value and in excellent position for Tate Modern. Use Southwark rather than Waterloo if on the tube as it is really on the end of Stamford Street next to Blackfriars Bridge.
“Good quality hotel at reasonable price”
Hotel from the outside looks ok and uses the same entrance as the pub that is underneith it, however there is a separate entrance inside so you don't need to go through the pub. Room size was better than expected and a nice comfortable double bed with all the usual room amenities. Website states that all rooms had ironing board, but there wasn't one - however one was brought up straight away on asking. Its a 5 minute brisk walk to the nearest tube station and its not really near to any bars etc, so walking around at night its very quite, but I felt perfectly safe while doing so. Overall, good hotel for price, very comfortable and the pub is accessible 24hrs for hotel guests!
“View of St Paul's comes with street noise”
The hotel was nice and clean, with a gastro-pub on the ground floor. There were only minor annoyances such as the TV's remote was missing, the shower had a water pressure limit switch, and the poor window sound insulation let in more traffic noise than we would have liked. Ensure you ask for a room on the back side of the hotel, unless a distant view of St Paul's Cathedral is more important to you.
