Kensington Close Hotel Review

Posted 30-Jun-2015
Pros: Not very much
Cons: Attitude of front desk people. They could pretend to care.
Location: Location was okay. Close to transit and shops, etc.
On the day of our check in, we arrived at hotel early in morning due to our flight arrival from Johannesberg, South Africa. Asked for an early check in. Girl at desk said she would try. After waiting in lobby for 5 hrs we were checked in at 1:45 pm. We saw lots of people checking out early while we rested on lobby furniture. Room cleaning over 4 days was marginal. Forgot to leave water bottles every second day. On first night my wife was robbed of her purse in a pub close by. While I was on phone to police the thief went to our room with room key from my wife's purse and stole about $ 5,000 worth of stuff. No security cameras on 7th floor. Police were unable to see anything on security camera by hotel entrance. Whole theft seemed very smooth. On last morning checkout, I checked my visa on line and saw we were billed twice for security deposit. Front desk was unable to figure it out. Asked for an email for explanation. Nothing ever came but account was sorted out. Jim Morrison

The executive room very very small for the price.

The rooms are small. Have to pay for Internet service. Av adapters $13 pounds for the breakfast and on top the coffee.. Front desk not very helpful.... The positive close to McDonald's and the underground stations... The only helpful are the concierge..

Okay stay ~If you there for a week-

Posted 26-Jun-2015
Pros: ?
Cons: The rooms need a make over - Lighting in the rooms need to be improved -change the lamp shades -paint the rooms -Put a light near the bathroom mirror
Location: See above
I stayed at the Kensington close for 2 weeks - 1.The room - if you have been on cruise -then you will understand the size of the room - single or 2 single beds - The room need to be redecorated - and new mattresses -The rooms were clean and the cleaning staff kept the rooms cleaned! Although the cleaning staff makes too much noise in the morning - You do not hear outside noise - 2. I should have looked into it -the gym very nice and yes they have a pool -But, not 8 pounds a day ! The have other services and that's were they can make their money -if you were just using the gym equipment it should be free - 3.The tube Is up the street and to the right -There is Café Nero on the corner and there is plenty of stores and restaurants around -Starbucks -up the street and turn left about block -Also at the end of street turn right-, there M&S store -has a food store in it and Whole foods is block after that -it very nice whole foods - 4. Kensington Palace is a short walk -worth the walk -

Well located to access the big city

Posted 26-Jun-2015
Pros: Location, hotel was clean.
Cons: Check in at 1pm and staff that are more friendly.
Booking through expedia our notification of booking stated check in 2pm. Arrived at 2pm but couldnt check in till 3pm. Room is basic but clean and serves the purpose of somewhere to sleep whilst in London. Shower was hot and very eficient with good quality, fluffy towels. Location of the hotel was great for accessing london transport around the city. Fair price for a london hotel.

Pros: Everything but the lobby computers.
Cons: The lobby computers have poor and inconsistent internet connections.
I stay in this hotel every year when I attend a conference in London. It is conveniently located, has clean and comfortable rooms, and has a great staff./

Good lotaction for shopping, dissapointing otherwi

Posted 22-Jun-2015
Pros: The location for shopping and the kind staff working on the entrance.
Cons: The management team, the receptionist and the price should reflect the quality that has been provided, the rooms are way too small for the charge.
Location: Graet shopping, tube station close by and not too far from the west end, or other tourist locations such as buckingham palace if you use the tube.
Room 1003 was a closet, the bathroom was leaking and the electrics didnt work. It was also dissapointing when I spoke to the manager (after 45minutes of waiting in the room) he was rude as said that leaving a negative review was the only thing he could recommend. After arguing we finally got moved to a differnt room, the bathroom was not leaking and the electrics worked. But the room was still tiny and dark, the room itself was out dated and extremly small. The welcoming staff on the doors were extremly helpful and polite but this wasnt a reaccurance throughout the hotel, staff were rude and unless you had the prospect of tipping highly they didnt want to know you. The receptionist was abrupt, this could have been because she was busy at the time, but we asked if we could be on the same floor because we had two rooms booked, her response was you dont get to choose. The hotel is well located for shopping and exploring but for the price you pay a cheaper hotel would be recommended becasue you do not get what you pay for.
