Not worth the price I payed

Posted 21-Apr-2014
Pros: The bed and the bathroom
Cons: room service, tv quality/signal, complimentary tea condiments.
The room was fine when I came in. Quite a comfortable bed and a nice bathroom. Otherwise the rest was not worth the price payed. The TV channels were glitchy and the milk for the tea was off. When asked for more milk that was fresh, I had to call twice because the house keeping did not bring it up the first time. Then when they eventually did bring the milk, it was still off. There was a lot of door banging and noise that I assume was made from the house keepers since some of the noises were at absurdly late times. Also the wi-fi was not free considering the price I payed.

Disappointing

The room smelled of smoke and didn't live up to the standards I expected based on the nice staff and lovely reception/seating area. Highly priced for a room of this standard

Overnight stay in London

Posted 20-Apr-2014
Pros: The toilets flushed well.
Cons: Concentrate a bit more on delivering what is on the tin & give the customer full use of the facilities.
We used our voucher for our stay & were put in room 523. I would say it was not even up to Travel Lodge standard. It is all front, a huge plush reception but after that everything is EXTRA. The Spa, Wifi etc. are all add ons & detracted from our stay, why should we pay £9.99 for Wifi when you can get it next door in the café for free!!! It costs the hotel nothing! The TV did not work.

A great location, clean and friendly staff

Posted 19-Apr-2014
Pros: Good location for shopping and Royal Albert Hall. Two minute walk from tube station.
Location: Shopping, Royal Albert Hall, Kensington Palace and Hyde Park near by
A friendly hotel in a great location. We stayed in a double room which was clean and nicely decorated. We had a shower room which again was very clean and decorated in a moden way. We walked to the Albert Hall (about 10 mins), walked around Kensington Gardens and Palace (lovely) and also walked to Harrods (although this was a hike)!

Good hotel in central London

Really glad I found this hotel on Expedia. I have stayed in London many times and wish I had found this hotel sooner. Very good for the price.

Good location

The location of the hotel is great and with good transport links. A little disappointed with the facilities in the room, bathroom was outdated. However the staff were friendly and welcoming.

Slightly Disappointing

Posted 07-Apr-2014
Pros: The location and general facilities were satisfactory.
Cons: The WIFI facilities could be better explain when enquiries are made. Reception staff could be a little warmer to customers.
Location: Good location close to the tube station.
Overall the experience was disappointing. The location was very good and generally the facilities were satisfactory. However, I found the staff to be a little rude and cold towards me at reception. When I enquired about wifi they said that there was a £10 charge which I paid, however, later during the stay I found that there are areas in the hotel where it is free and so I felt a bit ripped off. Furthermore, there were a few hairs in the bed and some old soap wrappers on the bathroom floor. Considering the price, I will most likely look elsewhere next time.

Location

This is the first below expectation hotel I've stayed in booked through Expedia. I'm saying I would recommend this hotel to friends based on location, pool and staff helpfulness. I stayed in room 2003 which clearly was not one of the refurbished rooms. It was the smallest room I've stayed in anywhere and had a number of issues: - the shower, if shower on full the curtain blew against you and the bathroom became soaked and steamy (no extractor) - the kettle had dust on it, probably because no-one wanted to use the meagre tea/coffee on offer, I included - the wardrobe space that to hang any clothes meant they were jammed in on both sides - the hairdryer and socket (see below) Staff were very helpful and there were computer and printing facilities which meant I could print my boarding passes. When I discovered the hairdryer wasn't working (probably related to the fact the socket was hanging off the wall with wires sticking out) 2 were brought to the room within 10 mins. I was told it would be repaired when I was out that day, it wasn't.

Central Hotel close to Museums

Posted 02-Apr-2014
Pros: Location.
Cons: 1st floor needs a bit of TLC
Hotel looked great . Booked a cheaper room which was quite small but OK for 1 night stay. But could hear every bit of conversation in the room next door , door closing etc- all night. My rating probably reflects this . Breakfast staff were great !
