“small but clean”
old but clean, make sure you reserve the room with bathroom,
“Convenient location, pleasant staff, good value”
Kensington Gardens Hotel is close to both Bayswater and Queensway Underground Stations. It is only 200 yards to Whiteleys shopping center (fashion, groceries, and restaurants) and less than a 10 minute walk to Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens. The manager of the hotel greets you with a friendly smile upon arrival and answers all questions and concerns about getting around London and will happily help guests book sightseeing tours and shuttles or taxis to the airport upon departure. The reason I rated the comfort of the room a 3 is because the rooms are a bit small but include nightstands, a desk and chair, and a closet. The mattresses, bedding, and pillows are very comfortable and really that's the most important thing because there's so much to see and do in London, you won't need the room for much more than a good night's sleep.
“Not impressed”
Tiny room without toilet - toilet is in the hallway outside the room. Hot. No help with luggage going to 4th floor without elevator - very steep stairs. Wifi signal in the room weak, unusable.
“small, but satisfied”
small, but reasonable rate. good location.
“Nice hotel”
The staf is very nice, the hotel is nice.
“Comfort in Bayswater”
The staff is very helpful, especially to travelers using Paddington station for access to Heathrow.
“small. no lift lots of steps”
Friendly staff. Internet didn't work lots of steps to room. Small room. Good location but to expensive for the room.
“cozy friendly hotel”
Hotel is small but clean and well run. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. It is very centrally located with great access to the Underground. The shower had great water pressure. The only draw back is that there is no elevator so, if you have a lot of luggage it will require hauling up stairs. Some rooms share a toilet. Our room had the toilet in the room. If you need to have your own toilet, verify before booking.
“Great Stay”
Really happy with this hotel. Small and has character. Manager and staff made my stay a happy one.
“Would definitely go back”
I have been at 3 different hotels on 3 separate occasions withing 6 weeks. All at the same price. This one was the best of the three. I had put in my reservation notes that I wanted to have a quiet room because I was in town to follow a training. They listened and put me on the top floor in a comfortable room with nobody else anywhere close to me. I believe I had the whole floor to myself. The receptionists were friendly and polite. The hotel is right next to a Best Western Hotel called the Phoenix Hotel. After 6pm the Pheonix hotel becomes the reception for both hotels, which is actually really nice. Even better is that you also have breakfast next door in the Phoenix - so the quality of breakfast is excellent. The room was comfortable, with own sink and shower. The toilet was 1 floor down, but very clean and newly refurbished. The only negative points were that there was no lift - and my room was on the 5th floor, so I got a good amount of excercise and the corridors and bathrooms were just too hot - it felt like the heating had run out of control. Thankfully I could open a window in my room. Would definitely recommend. Nice shops and restaurants in the neighbourhood. Bayswater Tub station nice and close. Paddington within 15 minute's walking distance.
