Great location. Very close to Buckingham Palace.

Posted 17-Sep-2014
Pros: Location. Value for money. Good service.
Cons: You must advise guests about the building work!
Location: Buckingham palace, Stat James Park. We walked to Westminster and Knightsbridge. Tube is 5 mins away on the district line so easy for everywhere,
Our initial room was overlooking some serious office building works. We were told the hotel was full but after some remonstrating they agreed to provide a room overlooking the courtyard. We hadn't unpacked and as our new room wasn't quire ready they said they would transfer the luggage. After an hour we went to the new room - no luggage. Took another few calls but it eventually arrived. The new room was fine with a nice few over a pretty courtyard where we sat and had some relaxing drinks. Service was good. Also use the Bistro 51 - food was good. We hadn't booked breakfast but there is a really good place just up the road so suggest you go there ! The location was great - 5 mins from Buckingham Palace and the same for the nearest tube. Apart from the room issue we were overall very pleased with this hotel and are returning or New Year.

Good Hotel

Posted 17-Sep-2014
Pros: Great location.
It's in a great location. The lobby seemed to be a happening place no matter what time of day! There are several restaurants, though we didn't eat there as we had plans elsewhere. But its nice to stay at a hotel that offers good staying-in options. I'd recommend staying here.

Love this hotel!!

Posted 09-Sep-2014
Pros: The staff was exceptional! Accommodations were spacious and very comfortable Location was fantastic
Cons: The only thing that was not a perfect 10, in my opinion, is the drinks in the lobby bar were very expensive. Twice as much as a pub or restaurant.
Location: It was just down the street near Buckingham Palace and a short walk to the tube. It was between Victoria and Westminster which was great!
This was our first trip to London - actually the UK - to celebrate our 20 year anniversary. This hotel was PERFECT for us! The location was wonderful, the accommodations fantastic - and the hotel staff exceptional! The English breakfast each morning was so good! The room was spacious and the bedding felt luxurious. But again, what stood out the most was the staff. From the moment we made our reservations to check out, they went above and beyond. We will definitely stay here again when we return!

Well located upmarket hotel

Posted 06-Sep-2014
Pros: Included breakfast was good and very friendly staff
Cons: Internet speed for free wifi
Location: Lots
Free internet quality was sub standard with poor connectivity. As a result you have to buy good connectivity at 10 GBP pet day , unacceptable by today's standards. Good connectivity needs to be included in the price of such a purported high class hotel.

Nice classic hotel near Buckingham Palace

Posted 05-Sep-2014
Pros: Nice rooms, clean, lots of granite, concierge, doorman. A good quality hotel.
Cons: For the money, not much could be improved.
Location: Location is good for historical touring or business travelers. The area lacks quality restaurants, pubs, theater, or other evening entertainment.
We stayed at the St. James due to proximity to Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey and other historical spots. The hotel is lovely and clean, with all the amenities you would want. The downside is that it's not near many restaurants or pubs, the theater, shopping or other activities. If you're not looking for anything to do after 6PM, this is a great choice. Otherwise, it's a hike to find more than one good restaurant, or any evening activity.

Almost fit for a Queen

Posted 04-Sep-2014
Pros: Location
Cons: better WI FI connection
Location: Close to Buckingham Palace, shopping and dinning
Beautiful hotel with a great staff. Nicely appointed room, with all the comfort of home. Not dependable wifi connection so hard to stay connected to home.

Nice Hotel

Posted 22-Aug-2014
Pros: How close it was to Buckingham Palace
Location: Only a couple minute walk to Buckingham Palace.
We were very pleased with the hotel. Staff at the front desk were friendly, and helpful. There was a great outdoor area where you could enjoy a drink or some food. We didn't use the restaurant, but it looked quite nice. Rooms were small, but nice.
