A place to stay!

Posted 15-Feb-2015
Pros: Central, friendly staff, cleanliness
St. James Court is exactly the Hotel one wants to find when going to London. It is very, very central. Just a short walk to the Tube. Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey and Big Ben are also within easy walking distance. I enjoyed my stay tremendously and this was due to all the nice staff such as Michaela, Bertold, Frederick and all the rest who made my visit a memorable one. I will definitely book again next time!

Great location for a lovely hotel

Posted 12-Feb-2015
Pros: Staff and hotel decor.
Staff very pleasant and eager to help. Room lovely. Fantastic location minutes walk from Buckingham Palace. Also within 10 minutes walk to two theatres and numerous restaurants and Victoria train station, tube station and bus station. Only ate breakfasts in hotel and they were perfect, huge choice of hot and cold, continental and English style. Will definitely recommend and use again.

Nice hotel, off the beaten path

Posted 11-Feb-2015
Pros: Available options, friendliness of staff.
Cons: Sound proofing the street facing windows.
Location: The location is convenient for tourists, but I wouldn't consider staying here for business.
I stayed one night and felt that it was a good hotel, but based on location, not sure I'd stay there again. The staff was fantastic on all accounts, and I was able to easily upgrade from a double to a king room. I wouldn't say the king room was actually an "upgrade" but more like simply a larger bed. The "upgraded" room was still very basic, but comfortable. The one issue that I had was that my room faced Buckingham Gate (the street) and so every time the Hop On/Hop Off city tour bus passed by, you could hear the tour guide speaking very loudly.

Business review - one night only

Posted 06-Feb-2015
Pros: Everything. It is a very good hotel
Cons: See above about the winter temperatures , apart from that, it is an excellent place to stay
Location: Great location, perfect in fact. Tube station and taxis all near by, Good pubs, restaurants etc., also nearby.
A very nice hotel, very good service, plus nice helpful staff. I've been before on business, and have gone back on a number of occasions. Hence, I would go back again. There was only one error, and that was the cold level of warmth in the bedroom (which other guests also spoke about). When it is a cold February night, in the middle of a U.K. Winter, heat in the bedrooms should be a genuine requirement. In spring and summer, the rooms can be fine warmth wise, but in the middle of winter, it should be a definite. Apart from that, I have NO problems at all. Everything else was excellent

Not bad for the money

Posted 03-Feb-2015
Pros: Location and was clean.
Cons: The bathroom looked a bit dated.
Location: Good location, near the underground and Buckingham Palace
I bookked a classic double and asked for a nice view as we were visiting London for my husband's 50th birthday. I had hoped that they might have upgraded us but we weren't. The did send a small plate of complementary chocolates to our room (don't know if that is the norm or not). The room itself was small but suited our purposes and was clean. We had a view onto the courtyard which was nice, however, we were woken between 7 and 8 am by a really loud noise which we later found out was the owner of an orange lamborgine which was parked just below our window who was constantly reving the engine!(we were on the first floor). There was also some quite loud noises that sounded like problems with the plumbing from the room above. We could also hear some sounds from the nearby underground but that didn't bother us too much. The location of the hotel is good as it is near St James underground and a 10 minute walk to Buckingham Palace.

Weekend Theatre Break

Posted 03-Feb-2015
The hotel is situated in an excellent position, close to Buckingham Palace, The Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey etc. We walked to the theatre but there are plenty of taxis and the tube station is close by. The staff were all extremely polite and helpful and the ambience was lovely in the bar listening to the pianist and relaxing.

Lovely Hotel

Posted 03-Feb-2015
Would definitely stay here again. Have read reviews before I arrived I was lucky to get a room on the 7th (top) floor, so could not hear the tube trains. The only very small issues, and perhaps this was due to being at the top of the hotel would be the humming noise all night. I guess this may have been the air conditioning units. But this was not a major problem.
