“NEW MANAGEMENT HAS MADE A BIG CHANGE”

The good experience began at check-in. The desk clerks were smiling and helpful. It is apparent that the hotel has changed hands and is under new management. My room was small but warm and clean and comfortable. Previously the hotel refused to check luggage but this policy has changed making a big difference for guests who have to leave a suitcase at check-out time and return to fetch it for a later train or flight. I had a very good experience at the hotel.

“good”

the room was small, but nice and convinient. Breakfast was nice: ham, cruassans, milk. Location is excellent: Not far from railstation Pedington. U can get Heathrow in 8 minutes by express. Underground station- "Lancaster gate" is in 500 metres from hotel. Hyde park -same thing.

“Good Hotel in a Great Location”

The Royal Eagle is a good hotel in a great location. We found the rooms to be clean and comfortable, and the morning breakfast was very substantial. It is 1 1/2 blocks to Picadilly Station with it's trains to Heathrow Airport, other parts of England, and it's tube station. Just walking takes you over to Hyde Park and there are many pubs and resturants around. It is not the Ritz, but if you want a clean, comfortable, moderately priced hotel to sleep in and be a base for seeing London by tube or walking, this is a place I would recommend.

“The best proximity in London”

We had the best time ever staying in London for the Olympics. The location of the hotel was the best proximity to get around town. I plan to stay here the next time I visit London. Thanks

“Very cost effective. Not for families.”

A small, low-cost room with comfortable beds (I'm from North America, and often beds in Europe and Asia are too hard). The hotel staff was extremely courteous and friendly. The room is too small for a family, but fine or a student or business traveller. Online photos of the rooms are accurate, but they do make the room seem bigger than it is! The location is very convenient for short stays, just a 400m walk from Paddington Station. (From Paddington, it is a 15min train ride to Heathrow on the express train.) My only complaint during my stay was the residual smell of fumigation in my room, which I assume is a necessary and temporary activity. However, I was able to open the window for an excellent breeze which took away most of the problem. I visit London once or twice a year, and this place is now on my list of favourites to stay.

“Location is all that matters.”

This location is great because it is only 2 very short blocks from Paddington Sation, the major train and metro hub. When looking for a hotel stay next to a metro to get around town easily and cheap! We also took the train to Disneyland-Paris as well as the airport. This hotel is not near the major highlights but a 5-minute metro ride will get you downtown. The map shows its next to a park but it is a good 10 minute walk. My 2 boys stayed in a loft upstairs with its own queen size bed, desk and TV which was fun for them. Our room was very small and simple, but was fine for a few days in London... we were never in the room, we had London to see. Again, don't worry so much about the hotel, focus on the location.

“Comfortable, convenient, affordable”

Good, affordable base from which to sightsee, etc. Not a destination in itself i.e. not where you go to spend all your time in the hotel. Continental b'fast included, saves $$ (lbs too) not only a.m. but lunch too (stock up). Very convenient to Paddington Station for arrive/depart Heathrow. Would stay there again.

“Pleasent base for a weekend of shopping!”

We were three friends (women around 30) staying in a room with three single beds and we were in general satisfied with the hotel and agreed that we would recommend it. Everything is a bit small, but not as small as London Hotel can be! The building is old and you can hear people on the street and in the hall easy, thus, I recommend earplugs for the perfect sleep, eventhough my friends were fine without! Service was friendly but not very informative. They tried to help but it took long and sometimes came to no result. Bathroom was nice and clean and the room too, except for the dust mice under the beds. Beds were comfortable though. All in all the hotel served the functions that we were looking for!
