There are very few times where you can say you've received more than your monies worth......well this is one of those places. Excellent location and you would never know it was off of a main street. Staff excelled in personal service.....they are excellent. Rooms were comfortable, bathrooms are nice and did I mention the service was excellent.

My wife and I spent 10 days at this hotel recently and I couldn't be more pleased with the selection. It's right next to the British Museum and within a 10 minute walk to a tube station. This is definitely a touristy section as there are several hotels, souvenir shops and multi-lingual restaurants. This also means the prices can be a little high for dining and drinks.
The hotel was built in the 1800's but it has all of the amenities of a modern building. There are three floors, all accessible via elevator. There is a tea room with tea service available. There was an electric kettle with coffee and tea making supplies in the room. There is a hair dryer and ironing board as most hotels provide. There is also a safe for your passports or other valuables.
The building is old. While they've done a great job modernizing things the floors do still creak. We didn't experience any problems with noise but we were also on the third floor.
The hotel staff is largely bilingual. I'm sure they get guests from all over. They were all so warm and welcoming. We ran into an issue with our booking (our fault) and the hotel bent over backwards to accommodate us.
This hotel is not close to Heathrow. Expect a hefty taxi fare if that's how you plan to get to and from the airport.

The Rubens is across the street from Buckingham Palace. About a block from Victoria Station. There is a nice restaurant, bbars, attached to the hotel. A wonderful pub, Bag O'Nails across the street. Alot of sites are within walking distance. Would definitely stay here again! Staff are polite, friendly and helpful.
