Right concept. Wrong location

Posted 16-Apr-2014
Stayed at the hotel for one night thinking it would be away from the centre of London, away from the hustle and bustle of the city and a nice relaxing place to come to after a major tourist-activity filled day. First impressions-the area seemed pretty run down but the facade of the hotel stood out. So far, not too bad. Check in was a breeze, friendly staff and informative about transport links to the city. We were directed to our room which seemed well designed but a little dark inside because the furniture, carpets and curtains are dark. The bathroom was big though with a large power shower. Our room was a superior room with a partial view of the river. Partial meaning a small river view from the side of the building and just out of one window. The rest of our view was offices. The blinds stayed down for the entire day and evening . Then came the temperature of the room. I always like to test the air conditioning and set the temperature to my liking. This is the deal breaker for me. The air con was very very noisy. I felt like I had the windows open and a helicopter was hovering above the building-that's how loud and disturbing it was. On top of that it was freezing and blowing out cold air. I spent the first hour in bed shivering. My husband had to hug me to warm me up and that doesn't happen alot because I'm usually the heater in the bed! The bed was comfortable though. Wouldn't stay here again. Defo not a 4 or 5 star hotel. Maybe 3.5...

Great location next to Thames and good bus service

Posted 10-Apr-2014
Pros: The shower room was fantastic, huge and good sound system too. The location on the Thames with a great view for dining, was also a plus.
Cons: I don't know how you stop people being loud and noisy during the night when they go to their room and decide to have a small party on a Tuesday night.
Location: Next to the Thames and served well by local buses and also a service bus which takes you to the nearest train station.
I liked the location next to the Thames and enjoyed having breakfast with such a fine view of the river. The only down side was noisy residents going to their room in the early hours of the morning even though it was a Tuesday night. On the plus side, the staff went out of their way to help.

Nice Hotel

Posted 03-Apr-2014
Pros: Quality, space, location. River view. Helicopter facility nearby.
Cons: More mirrors and plug points. Booking wasn't clear about breakfast inclusion. Would have loved a river view, but so would everybody.
Location: We travelled through Clapham Junction station, and bus 170 makes it so easy to move between there and the hotel.
Good room, lots of space, quality finishes and furnishings. Could have done with more mirrors or at least a mirror with a plug near it. Think of the ladies! Otherwise it was great.

Alright for a night

Posted 13-Mar-2014
Pros: Seemed very new and clean and excellent bathroom
Cons: A shuttle to Chelsea rather than a drive through Clapham. Decent lighting in the rooms and do not put anyone in Room 112.
Location: Nothing to do nearby except go to the hotel restaurant. Surrounded by anonymous new-builds.
This fairly smart hotel is situated on the other side of Battersea Bridge from Chelsea. On the surface it looks reasonably handy for the shops on Kings Road and for getting into the city centre. It is actually in an area that is being redeveloped and not near to an underground station. The route to it by cab from Kings Road was far from straight forward and when we caught the free hotel shuttle bus that takes you to the nearest tube, Clapham Common, it took about 25 minutes. Our room (112) was small but smart, with a very good bathroom, but it's picture window overlooked the taxi drop off area and was directly opposite and close to the tall restaurant building. Consequently, light and privacy were in very short supply. The eco friendly lighting did nothing to help as we dressed in the gloom both morning and night. The very courteous receptionist assured us we'd be given a different room if we returned.

A Nice Surprise!

Posted 13-Feb-2014
A nice surprise. No big chain but perfectly finished, spotlessly clean and great facilities. A little out of the way, make sure you get a taxi or the shuttle they run FOC from the train station, the walks not great although not far.
