Short Stay

Posted 19-May-2014
Stayed for one night in a superior room with partial river view. Nice room, partial view as advertised, comfortable bed, great shower. Everything you'd need for a decent stay

well situated london hotel

Posted 17-May-2014
Pros: Helpful staff and great bedroom
Location: the 170 bus stopped outside the Hotel and in 20 mins we were at Victoria.
A warm welcome and friendly staff got us off to a good start. We arrived by car and soon had the car valet parked. We were given a room upgrade which was a large room with a most spacious bathroom. It is so good to stay in a modern well appointed hotel rather than many of the tired conversions.Breakfast was excellent lots of fresh fruit. The restaurant is by the river so on a sunny morning it was a great place to start the day.

Just perfect!

Pros: The upgrade, the rooms were lovely, the view and the room service
Cons: It exceeded our expectations
I booked my family to stay for the night of my wedding and they loved it! They upgrade them to a decadent two floor spacious appartment, the views were stunning, the apartment was absolutely beautiful and made this time with my family very special. We also ordered room service, which was delicious. Highly recommend this hotel and will use it for all future guests coming to visit

Fabulous modern hotel.

Posted 04-May-2014
Pros: Everything
Cons: I am sure the couple of things that I pointed out at the time were dealt with.
Location: We went to a great Pizza place and then on to The Grand for a Comedy evening then disco. Beautiful Victorian theatre and great comedy acts.
This was a great hotel where the staff couldn't do enough for you. We booked two double rooms, one for two nights and one for three nights. We were give an upgrade for our two nights. The couple of things I needed to point out about the room were dealt with instantly by a manager. The Banyan restaurant is Indo-Chinese and was one of the best meals we have had for a while and all the food is half price if you are staying in the hotel! It also overlooks the Thames. We were also treated to a trip onto the roof to overlook the London skyline which was fantastic. We used the great spa and three of our party had spa treatments which were very reasonably priced. We stay in London now and again and this an hotel which we would definately go back to - and soon. Thank You all the staff.

Disappointing. Could be much better!

Given this is a five star hotel I expected far more. My wife and I were really disappointed with our stay here. Rooms are really well decorated however I didn't think they were well serviced or maintained, could have done with a vacuum and a number of fixes to items in our room were a little bit poor. Also, on checking in we weren't told that our bath/jacuzzi was out of order. This was eventually compensated with free breakfast for our two night stay but we had to push to get this. The signage in and around the hotel is extremely tacky and doesn't seem to be of a high enough standard for a five star place ie: laminated pieces of A4 printed off on a normal PC printer. Some of these things are small items but when you pay a lot for a weekend at what is meant to be a really good hotel these things do bug me.

Right concept. Wrong location

Posted 16-Apr-2014
Stayed at the hotel for one night thinking it would be away from the centre of London, away from the hustle and bustle of the city and a nice relaxing place to come to after a major tourist-activity filled day. First impressions-the area seemed pretty run down but the facade of the hotel stood out. So far, not too bad. Check in was a breeze, friendly staff and informative about transport links to the city. We were directed to our room which seemed well designed but a little dark inside because the furniture, carpets and curtains are dark. The bathroom was big though with a large power shower. Our room was a superior room with a partial view of the river. Partial meaning a small river view from the side of the building and just out of one window. The rest of our view was offices. The blinds stayed down for the entire day and evening . Then came the temperature of the room. I always like to test the air conditioning and set the temperature to my liking. This is the deal breaker for me. The air con was very very noisy. I felt like I had the windows open and a helicopter was hovering above the building-that's how loud and disturbing it was. On top of that it was freezing and blowing out cold air. I spent the first hour in bed shivering. My husband had to hug me to warm me up and that doesn't happen alot because I'm usually the heater in the bed! The bed was comfortable though. Wouldn't stay here again. Defo not a 4 or 5 star hotel. Maybe 3.5...

Great location next to Thames and good bus service

Posted 10-Apr-2014
Pros: The shower room was fantastic, huge and good sound system too. The location on the Thames with a great view for dining, was also a plus.
Cons: I don't know how you stop people being loud and noisy during the night when they go to their room and decide to have a small party on a Tuesday night.
Location: Next to the Thames and served well by local buses and also a service bus which takes you to the nearest train station.
I liked the location next to the Thames and enjoyed having breakfast with such a fine view of the river. The only down side was noisy residents going to their room in the early hours of the morning even though it was a Tuesday night. On the plus side, the staff went out of their way to help.
