What to expect: Popular with international travelers from the fashion and media industries, the Sussex is situated in a row of eight white-columned Victorian townhouses in a quiet cul-de-sac just behind Oxford Street. Inside, guests are greeted by Indian wood sculptures, deep-blue Vietnamese paintings, scented candles, and Italian designer leather furniture.
Amenity highlights: The hotel’s decor combines contemporary design with original Asian artifacts. Leather chairs are from Poltrona Frau, designers of the leather in Ferrari cars. Lighting, from Italian designer Fabbian, gently rotates to provide subtle changes in color and mood. The two meeting rooms feature glass board-tables, leather chairs, and plasma screen TVs and can be specially prepared for intimate dinner parties.
Insider tip: Guests wishing to visit Selfridges can avoid the crowds of Oxford Street by taking the backstreet route from the hotel. A two-minute walk leads to one of the department store’s side entrances. Reception can provide the simple directions.

The two meeting rooms at Radisson Edwardian Sussex seat 4 to 12 people. Each features a glass boardroom table, Italian leather chairs, and a plasma screen TV. Nova Restaurant and Bar - Wenge wood walls and tables and hand-carved statues from India give a subtle Eastern feel to this 80-seat bar/restaurant. The glass bar, with its large frosted floral designs, provides a striking modern focal point. Brown-leather chairs are by Poltrona Frau, the Italian leather designers behind the interior of Ferrari cars. The restaurant-bar serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It is also popular for its cocktails and has a number of house specialties, including the Chocolate Martini.
