“Great location on Leicester Square”
Great in-between location for sight seeing and great shopping. Nearby Underground. Initially placed in room too small to fit baby cot requested with room, but Concierge was extremely helpful to move us to a more suitable room.
“Best hotel in London!”
We are an Australian couple in our early 50's and first time travelers. The hotel was amazing. Convenient location to all amenities and sights. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Free computer access available at all times which made it easy to keep in touch with children back at home. The bed was the most comfortable that we had slept in during our 8 week European holiday. There was some surrounding building work at the time (end July 2011) but we did not hear any noise at any time. We would definitely stay at this hotel again and highly recommend it to everyone. It made the commencement of our journey an enjoyable one and I can't wait to go back.
“Stay in the heart of London”
Great location - so many theatres in walking distance. Only suggestion is to have a real hair dryer in the room. They have these "in the drawer" ones that are useless and since it is a 5 star hotel, that would be my only suggestion. The staff are awesome, hotel is comfortable and definitely a place we would return to on our next visit.
“Great hotel, but so expensive”
This hotel provided us with an excellent place to stay for a weekend layover. Perfectly located in central London, with so much within walking distance. Our accommodations the previous night, overlooking the Indian Ocean on Lamu off from the Kenyan mainland, cost less than a typical meal out in the US. So ten times that amount seemed so extravagant. It's all relative. Thanks for a lovely stay, Hampshire Hotel. ,
“Loud”
Leicester Square = a trashy Times Square. It's an all-night, all-day party, and this hotel is smack in the middle of it all. It didn't really get quiet until about 5 AM, and then the trash collection begins a bit after that, heralding your morning with the sound of crashing beer bottles (left out in piles by the clubs that are direct neighbors of this hotel). Don't stay here unless you have good earplugs or don't actually want/need a good night's sleep. The hotel is very well-located for first-time visitors to London, though.
“Fantastic location for business or holiday”
Despite the long name, and the confusion with a hotel of a similar name (same chain) around the corner, the Radisson Edwardian Hampshire Hotel is a great place to stay. The surrounding area is vibrant, and it's easy to walk to many tourist sights, and the Tube is a short stroll away. Suggest staying on a higher floor simply because of the noise of Leicester Square. One lift played up, but apart from that I can highly recommend the hotel. Please note that as at April 2011, Leicester Square has been dug up and is going through a renovation in prep for the 2012 Olympics. Tad noisy.
“Go Elsewhere to Enjoy London”
This hotel's facility is fine, the rooms are clean, and travel is convenient. Unfortuantely, the noise on the top floor was unbearable as they held dances and office parties till 1 in the morning, which made sleeping on the floors below. The bar and restaurant staff are cold and aloof. Oddly, the house cleaning staff and room service could not have been nicer. I've stayed in London at nearly a dozen hotels and this one has some of the nicest rooms and would have one of the best locations but for the fact that Leicester Square is a construction zone for all of 2011 and into 2012. Stay somewhere else and somewhere at which the hotel staff are warm and receptive.
“December theatre visit”
Location magnificent but hotel and its staff left too much to be desired for consideration of a return visit. Don't like being taken for a ride!
“Would go back again, again & again.”
Second time for a visit to this hotel. The only problem encountered on this trip was that the first room offered overlooked a close adjacent building at the rear of the hotel. I would strongly recommend upgrading to a room at the front if available. The room at the front overlooked the fair in Leicester Square which we did not hear due to the double glazing/sound proofing. You basically get what you pay for, conveniently situated, excellent hotel, combined with excellent service etc.
