A Fantastic Hotel

Posted 08-Sep-2014
Pros: Luxury touches. Quality of the hotel is excellent
Cons: Nothing
Location: Central location. Most theatres are only a few minutes walk with endless shops and places of interest and tube stations close by.
We contacted the hotel prior to our stay to make some requests. Our e-mail was responded to very quickly and we were treated with dignity and respect due to our reasons for being in London. Our requests were more than met, and were given a complimentary upgrade. The room was beautiful and the hotel itself exceeded expectations. Room service was prompt, the little touches in the room were what made this hotel stand out for us. The location was very central but not on a main or car heavy road. The bar and restaurant are very good but you are so central, everything is within easy reach. We highly recommend this hotel.

Nice hotel but don't plan a special evening!

Posted 03-Sep-2014
Pros: Needless to say, I was not happy, the night had been ruined. We are parents of 2 kids under 5 and don't get out much so I really wanted this to be
Cons: perfect, it was far from it. Our room itself was great, clean and comfy, so no complaints about that. A very disappointed mummy :o(
I had booked a good 2 weeks in advance of staying at this hotel, hubby & I picked it out together. The night we booked, it was my hubby's birthday. I decided I wanted to make a special night so I called the hotel 5 days before our stay to arrange a bottle of champagne, a cake, a card & some chocolate dipped strawberries as a surprise for him-to have in the room before we headed out to dinner. I was sent a form to fill out, which I did & sent back, this form had my credit card details on it too. When we got to the hotel that night, nothing of what I had arranged was done. No champagne came up, no cake, no card or strawberries, nothing. I even called 15 minutes before it was scheduled to come to the room to confirm it was all still coming and I was told, yes. So I wait & I wait & I wait. Nothing. 30 mins later, I call back and ask where everything is. They told me to come down to the bar & talk to the bar manager. So I do. I explained that I had arranged this from 5 days ago & how come its not happening? They didn't have an answer & after some digging they informed me that they never received that form that I had filled out. I was fuming. They said they would send up some bubbly, but that was not the point. The evening was ruined because it wasn't a surprise anymore for my husband & I was really annoyed. Then a waiter came up to my room with a single oat cookie on a plate, with syrup squirted around it as a substitute for the cake!! Insulted, I told him to take it back down.

Good location for theatres

Posted 01-Sep-2014
Pros: Location
We had 2 twin rooms one was very small and bathroom tiny to say the least. The other bathroom was a good size but bedroom small . I would stay again but only for the location . It was not cheap and I would have expected better rooms . The cleaner did not clean our room each day till 4 o'clock which was very inconvenient as we wanted to freshen up to go out for early meal at we had shows booked . Drinks in the bar were expensive and they had dead a service charge which I was not happy about .

Perfect location for a London break

Posted 27-Aug-2014
Pros: The location and general ambience of this hotel makes for a very easy relaxed stay
Cons: The cost of breakfast is quite high so we didn't eat in the hotel
Location: As mentioned above the theatres are close by. Lots of shopping and many places for eating
Loved this hotel. The location in Covent Garden was ideal for eating and shopping and within walking distance of most of the theatres. Mathilda is showing at the theatre opposite the hotel. Staff very helpful and although our superior room wasn't very big it had everything we needed and it was very comfortable

Covent Garden great location

Posted 25-Aug-2014
Pros: Bed was extremely comfortable, superior room a great size.
Cons: Staff make more effort to follow up where flowers were rather than just saying no flowers ordered. They were ordered and delivered to wrong room
Location: Covent Garden - superb location for theatre land too
I arrived early and was booked in , so that was great. However later when i came to watch the tv it didn't work and the only option was for me to change room - an upgrade so not too bad except i did not have a bath in the upgraded room. Room was great, cant fault that really in any way However, housekeeping came round at 2.30 Saturday afternoon and by that time i needed a rest before going out in the evening so was a little disappointed that it was so late and nothing had been done. But the real issue was that i knew flowers had been ordered for me and when i questioned reception no one seemed to know anything about them. I now know they were delivered to the wrong room, so a gesture that would have frankly made mt stay superb turned in to a farce. I was hugely disappointed by this episode and warned reception i would complain at some atge when i could confirm full details. My name is unusual so I hav no idea how the mix up occured. But this has blurred my stay.

Great central location

Family visit to London to take in a couple of shows. Great location for shopping, theatres and connections to other parts of London. Hotel facilities, staff and food service were all of a good Quality. Staff were very helpful. There was some disruption if staying on the lower floors of the hotel but I am not dire this was something that could have been prevented by the hotel. Overall very pleasant stay.

Comfortable modern hotel right on the 7 Dials

Posted 13-Aug-2014
Pros: Modern facilities, room was comfortable and quiet at night despite location. Most staff very pleasant and helpful
Cons: Only glitch -tried to push double rather than twin we'd booked. First reaction was to blame expedia...took persuading to sort it & a different clerk
Location: Heart of the West End - walk to theatres, museums, shops, Covent Garden, Soho, Leicester Square, National Gallery
We used the hotel for a long weekend, and this brand new hotel is well appointed and very comfortable. Rooms are not large - to be expected in this area - but spacious enough and modern feeling inside. We had a room away from the street so very quiet at night - might be a bit different on the other side. Only a few blocks away from Covent Garden, Soho, Neals Yard there are restaurants and shops everywhere so we didn't use the hotel for any meals - though the area downstairs is good. The hotel also has valet parking - they take the car to nearby multistorey (standard London car park prices plus a modest charge). Overall we enjoyed our stay though check-in was marred by their mixing up twin & double room. First checkin assistant insisted it was Expedia's problem and wouldnt help, second sorted us out brilliantly.

My wife and I stayed here for the weekend for our 25th wedding anniversary on arrival we were upgraded as it was a special occasion. Could not ask for a better hotel in central London, it's not cheap but worth the money for a special occasion
