Was a lovely experience. Used the spa which was a relaxed atmosphere. Then had a lovely meal in the evening! Not bad prices!

Hotel close to Heathrow Terminal 1&2

Posted 28-Nov-2014
The room was a double but very small with very little floor space for two suitcases. There was only one bath towel supplied for the two of us, although there were two smaller 'hand' towels. We arrived about 10pm and phoned the desk to ask for a second towel for use the next morning. But no additional towel was forthcoming. Granted it was late in the evening to be asking for something. We had to leave early the next morning.

The Shuttle Experience

Posted 19-Nov-2014
Cons: As above
I think it would be a nice touch if the shuttle to the hotel was complimentary

Close, convenient, comfortable enough...

Posted 17-Nov-2014
Pros: Restaurant
Cons: Should offer free shuttle to airport.
Location: Heathrow
Pleasant and comfortable enough. Restaurant served up some decent food which made staying in a good option after a long travel week and an early AM departure. Room on the small side but adequate for a short over nighter.

Exceptionally good value

Posted 17-Nov-2014
A superb hotel at a great cost. I would certainly consider staying here for ALL stays in London as hotels in the city centre are so very expensive for minimal facilities. This has it all, and what isn't to like about two bars, a restaurant and a curry house on site!? It is gorgeously appointed and very classy. Newly renovated in the past 3 years, it really shows it's class and style. So, I would stay here again, yes. Even factoring in the costs of getting to the tube or the Heathrow Express, it works out way cheaper that central London hotels. I stayed here a lot in the past. It was good then; it is great now. On the downside, well, you're at Heathrow and the view is pretty terrible from any window. You don't exactly get Big Ben as your vista, rather a brick wall or a dual carriageway. And the internet is a bit slow, with the faster internet costing you some serious cash. Final (very minor) grumble is the cost of the hotel / airport shuttle. I suppose I'm used to these being free in other countries and cities, and a charge was a little odd, considering it was almost the same cost as a taxi into the Airport (5 pounds vs 8 pounds) The big positive were the outstanding staff, who cannot do enough for you. They are there in abundance and continually smile and chat and seem to be genuinely enjoying their work. For the Dutch barman to the lovely girl who checked me in, I cannot fault any one of them. Even the cleaning staff in the morning were ready with a joke and a smile.

Good Option for Heathrow Layover

Posted 16-Nov-2014
Pros: The quality of the rooms and public areas
Cons: The internet "free " service, or being offered a password to the secure service
I was really looking forward to staying at the Radisson Blu as its one of my favorite chains, quality and comfort but this time was very frustrating for me as I arrived late and went to my room which was a very long way from the front desk, the very professional front desk guy was welcoming and could not have been nicer. My room was everything I had expected , great bed and bathroom but then I spent ages trying to connect to the internet on all my devices which I was told I did not need a password for at check in. It was late and I did not go back down to the front desk as I was already in bed and in the morning when I checked out I was asked the customary "how was your stay ?" I explained my frustration with not being able to log on to the internet for work and the very helpful desk clerk told me I should use the secure service and then I was given a password for a secure internet which was great and very fast. So my question is why this was not offered to me on check in ? , also as I was there for an event I found out allot of my colleagues also had this issue as well. Now I know I will make sure next time I check in I will ask for the secure password as I do love this chain of hotels.S So if you plan on staying here ask check the internet and if its not working ask for the password for the secure login

Handy for a night when flying from Heathrow

Posted 06-Nov-2014
Pros: The restaurant.
Cons: The carpet in the room.
Location: Great for an overnight stop when flying.
The hotel felt welcoming and the restaurant was good - quite expensive but good quality and generous portions. The inclusive breakfast was good too. The carpet in the room was quite ruckled which could be hazardous in the middle of the night! The London Transport buses are free to the airport which save two of us the £18 it would have cost two ways on the hotel shuttle!
