“excellent hotel”
well maintained and friendly staff. would return good value for money, clean and comfortable
“A NIGHTHMARE”
To begin with the Hotel is rated "four star". Not sure how they came up with the number four. Try "0" star. The hotel is located in a trashy area with fruit stands all around. "Extremely busy area" The hotel itself is a little dirty house with dirty rooms not bigger than a closet with very low ceiling. I had a room with a tiny window facing a pile of trash. (please note: not all rooms have a window at all) I had asked to have my money refunded to me the very first day, but was told that the money is not refundable. So, I was forced the stay there for six days. When I booked the "Executive Room" I was told that breakfast would be included, but to my surprise, they told me that I will be charged. The staff is very rude, very distant. It seems that they don't care about the place or the guests. I walked in one day to find one of them with plates and fork in hands eating lunch right at the desk. I called this experience a nightmare because I was forced to live like a prisonner and scared (because the area did not feel safe to me) for six days when I was supposed to be on vacation.
“Very courteous and helpful staff.”
I was very satisfied with this hotel, it was close to where I needed to be. The surrounding area looks a bit run down, but it does not seem to be a bad area at night . The hotel room was smaller than usual but contained everything I needed, and was very clean. What impressed me most was how friendly and helpful the staff were, everyone. I would definitely go back.
“Poor front desk staff”
This was my second stay at this hotel. First was fine, second was not. The front desk staff were incompetent and actively unhelpful, not bothering to correctly schedule wake-up calls, turning away ordered taxi cabs, not letting me use the phone at the front desk. Room was small (normal in London) but well-maintained. Staff was bad, simply bad all around, and hardly spoke any English.
“would go back”
hotel was very clean and qite nicelly furnished, room was a bit small and dark, only small window, bedside and centre light not working and although we reported it to reception 3 times it did'nt get repaired, but the receptionist did apologise and we were given a free English breakfast and 2 small bottles of wine, but I would rather have had some light in the roome ,except for this we would have been very pleased, location was good for us, plenty of busses stop outside.
“I will be back again and again!”
Very nice Hotel! The tube station is only in few steps. Good location of Pubs and Currency Exchanges! Tesco is just across the road! Room was tiny but good equipped and with a huge bathroom! Stuff is polite. Next time will book it definitely!
“You get what you pay for.”
The price is what got me interested in this hotel. It was not in central London which I knew prior. Next time I would spend extra to get closer to central London.
“On a whole not a bad choice!”
On a whole we felt very lucky for having chosen this hotel. It's new, decorated in a modern, convenient way (without any trace of the bad smell of a newly decorated place though), very clean, with comfortable beds, and situated in a quiet and friendly neighborhood. There's a kettle in the room, making it convenient to occasionally brew tea in the morning after a nice hotel continental breakfast. The service isn't bad at all. We were able to get very helpful information from the front desk people. We especially appreciate it when the staff obligingly offered us an adapter to use for free when we expected to have to pay. The hotel is well located, about 5-minute walk to the Kilburn park tube station. There are a number of nice-looking restaurants nearby, a dry cleaning store right around the corner. And, the best of all, a good-sized supermarket is right across the road. The supermarket opens early and closes late, selling everything at very reasonable rates, and the people there are extremely friendly. Thanks to the supermarket to an extent, we felt truly cozy and very much at home staying in the hotel. There was just one problem. Our family had two rooms for three nights, but one of our rooms, room 211 is rather cramped, without a bathtub like what we saw in our kids' room. The bigger problem is that one of the curtains simply doesn't work in shielding off the light in the morning, so I woke up around 5 o'clock every morning.
“Nice hotel in a not so nice neighborhood with bad service”
Good: Rooms were nice, clean, comfy beds, great showers. Very near the tube and a grocery store which is open late. Lots of little cafes and coffee shops nearby for breakfast. I didn't eat there but the restaurant looked nice as well. BUT the safe and alarm clock in my room did not work, and the A/C didn't do the best job. Wake-up call was 15 minutes late two mornings in a row, even though I complained about this after the first- i had a plane to catch and could NOT wake up late the second morning. Good thing I set a backup. The neighborhood was a bit iffy with some dodgy characters hanging around. I did not feel comfortable coming back at night as a woman traveling alone. There was a bizarre frequent thumping ALL NIGHT like someone moving furniture or slamming doors- i think it may have been related to the nearby businesses (dry cleaner?). The staff person downstairs appeared to be oblivious of this noise though I can't imagine that she's never heard this complaint!! Lastly, the staff was either relatively unfriendly (one person) or nice enough but unhelpful (several). One example: I needed a plug converter (US to UK). Theirs was lent out, but they would get it back that morning. The staff person wrote down my info and promised to have it at the desk when I got back. However, he never told the evening staff person so they lent it out to someone else, and my camera had no battery the next day, since the stores nearby that carried this item were closed that evening.
“Janet -Mediocre, okay but not great. Price okay”
HOtel was not a bad location, near buses, etc. But not great restaurants. Hotel rooms small and a bit stuffy. Staff nice but didn't always answer the phone. Breakfast was okay. Dining room staff quite nice.
