“Very shabby hotel, crack on walls water coming in through walls, bitten by fleas, NOT IMPRESSED”
Not impressed, very old and shabby, water leaking from crack on walls
“Value”
Good value, clean, very basic with polite service, suitable for a place to just sleep.
“Pretty decent, but beware wi-fi switcheroo”
Neighborhood fine, access to public transportation excellent. Room comfortable enough for the price. Hotel employees very friendly. However, the hotel should not advertise itself as having free wi-fi if it is not available in the actual hotel rooms.
“GC”
Good location, outside of congestion zone, easy tube access. Nothing special, typical Euro Pension, maybe even a little lower star. No privacy and tight quarters, but good price.
“The English breakfast was good.”
See above comments.
“Dirty and Not En-Suite as Promised”
Leftover food in room fridge; toilet down the hall (not en suite, which is what I selected when making the reservation); a shower stall in the corner of the room with no dividing wall or even a curtain to provide privacy from the rest of the room; junky, flimsy furniture.
“Great budget Hotel”
If you are looking for a good cheap hotel, this one is for you. Location is also great: close to two underground stations, banks, shops and restaurants near by. Beds weren't the most comfortable, and the room was tiny, but again, what I got was great for the price. Everything was clean, and a very good -kind of- English breakfast is served every morning. Most importantly, the staff (family business, I think) was always very friendly and helpful. There was a mix-up with my reservation, they weren't able to change it as I first had wanted but actually got a better room available for no extra charge, even though it wasn't their fault. I would definitely stay there again!
“Don't bother”
This hotel does not deliver at all what is advertised. We did not the first night get the type of room we had reserved. Half us were put on the third floor where the shower didn't work and the toilet didn't flush properly, while the other half were on the first floor. We had to go to the first floor for these needs. The rooms had garage sale type quality furniture, at best, no decor with blank walls, the tv remote didn't work and was filthy. No phone and toiletries were a sliver of soap. The last night we were in a basement type room with a view of the street and garbage bags. Also, one night the workmen who live there were outside our window drinking and talking till 11:30 pm. When we asked the management to have them move we were told that there wasn't anything they could do as they weren't bothering anyone despite being 10 feet outside the window.
“Worst experience ever”
Although the staff was nice enough to change my room, the service was still bad. The breakfast buffet was awful. The staff didn't speak any english and all they had to offer were cornflakes, milk, tea, coffee and scrambled (underdone) eggs. The room I got was not cleaned, there was dirt on the floor and on top of all, it had a door leading to the garden that didn't close. You can imagine how cold it got during the night. I might also add, that I had no wifi reception in my room. Another let down. Also, the workmen that stayed in the room beside me made so much noise that it was merely impossible to sleep. I would never, ever in my life again spend a night at that hotel.
“Hotel Plaza / Rex - don't do it!”
Booked in for Hotel Plaza, alarm bells rang when directed to Hotel Rex next door. We were greeted to a staff member argueing with a dissatisfied guest who said he was being moved rooms for the third time in four nights. Hotel room floor was dirty, shower broken, toilet flush not working, lock on the room door liable to not work at all, fridge noisy and dirty, no kettle or drink making facilities in the room, no bed side lamp, graffiti on the wall . Staff dismissive of complaints. One positive is the location right between Hammersmith and Shephards Bush tube stations
