“Perfect Location”
Hotel is a bit dated, but was very clean and you can't beat the location! Cozy lobby area. Great place to stay if looking for convenient central location.
“London,England”
Liked the location-close to Hyde and Green Parks.
“Looking a bit tired”
I used to be a regular here when it was under different ownership but this is my first visit back for over 2 years. Nice friendly welcome and service but the interior is showing signs of needed a bit of freshening up. Don't really need hardboard painted over where their used to be a space under the TV - a bit tacky given the rest of the hotel. Check out was a nightmare - one poor staff member handling phones, check out and taxi bookings etc
“Not impressed with with Hotel, not at all.”
The hotels cleanliness is questionable. Had mould in the bathroom and on the window seal. The rooms wallpaper us hanging offThe hotel room maintenance was below minimum standard, the power sockets in the room were damaged and unsafe to use, the room did not have curtains and the blind did not work (unable to completely move down the window and I had a Building block opposite and people were able to watch me) and the the provided equipment was damaged and very old. The windows were not double glassing and the hotel is in the middle of London, noisy. The walls between rooms are very thin and was able to hear the neighbouring rooms loud and clear. There is a plus. The staff was very friendly and the provided room service was exceptable. But this does not outweigh the negative. I don't recommend this hotel
“Marcus in Mayfair”
This is the second time I spent time at the hotel. The first time was one of the worst experiences I ever had, and the only reason I booked this hotel a second time was partly due to it being the only hotel that had rooms available. This time around was better than the first, but London's weather made it a better experience. The hotel staff are hopeless and the english guy working at the desk had the audacity to tell me they do not hold luggage on day of checkout, even though I had previously left my luggage there. After I made it an issue he immediately backed down with a horrible grin on his face as if he enjoyed the 'wind up'. I would advise to avoid this hotel at all costs, unless you need a cheap central place on a very short term basis. Hopefully the stained carpets and bed sheets are changed soon!
“Worst Hotel in Mayfair”
The breakfast was cheap and stale. The central heating did not work. The hot water stopped working. The hotel staff were never at reception when I called and on two occassions I had to go down to the reception and wait 10-15 min for someone to show up. The hotel was worn, old, looked dirty, and is poorly management. I was shocked as the central lobby area gave a lovely impression. I will never stay here ever again!
“Good location, middle of the road hotel”
Based on the edge of Mayfair this hotel's location suggested a great experience. You can walk to the smart bars & restaurants and are not one of the mass that stay at the large Park Lane lux hotels. The double room had no air conditioning, a plug in heater and a screwed shut window. Warm but stuffy. No minibar, no hotel guide to services apart from the room service menu and a 'hang on your door for breakfast in room' order form. Bath room complimentary toiletries were basic. The bath had a hair in it. Plenty of warm water, clean glasses and lots of clean towels and robe. Service was fine but I got the impression that due to the location behind the Hilton they have few regulars and turn the rooms so much that they have lost the 'special' touch that makes a guest want to linger and return. A real shame - with some investment this could be a really lovely hotel. Small and personal, it could be the place I would use regularly. At present I'm not sure if I wouldn't get better value elsewhere.
“Great location for sightseeing”
The hotel, although small, was idealy situated in Mayfair, a few minutes from the Hyde park metro station. There are several small restaurants in the streets directly behind the hotel. The price was also quite good, compared to other hotels in the immediate area.
“Disappointing”
First room had a broken bed, second room had a broken toilet, 3rd time was a charm. Air conditioning did not work in any of the rooms. Hotel did give me free breakfast, which was decent, for the duration of my stay. Front desk staff was friendly, particularly the tall dark handsome Englishman who seemed to be perpetually there. I feel sorry for them as I suspect they spend a lot of time apologizing for the condition of the hotel. The location and surrounding environs are unbeatable.
“Good place to stay”
Temperatures were in the 90's - and air conditioning was broken. We were provided with a fan that was slightly helpful. Location near Shepard's Bush made eating choices easy - lots of places served breakfast for a reasonable price. Staff was very helpful in planning day trips on our own and booking other trips away from London.
