“Good budget option for London”
London hotels tend to be pricey and not always the best value for money, and this is a clean, affordable option. Would recommend
“basic hotel in a great location”
Located in a great neighborhood, Orchard Hotel offers basic amenities for a tourist who plans to spend most of the time exploring London. Rooms are very simple, clean, with TV. Basic breakfast (toast, butter, boiled egg, cereals, milk, sliced cheese and ham), hotel personnel generally friendly. The hotel has a luggage room but no internet (there is a Internet Cafe nearby, 2 pounds/1hr). Lots of restaurants, cafes, pubs and a small grocery store nearby. Very close to Paddington train station (within walking distance), Paddington tube station and several bus stations. 10 min walk to Hyde Park. Overall, it's a fair price for the service provided.
“Good location for Paddington Station”
Our room was clean and comfortable for the 3 of us. We shared a quad room and found it a nice size but wouldn't have wanted it smaller. Beds were comfortable and we had a nice ventilation with the windows open - but then it wasn't hot in London when we were there. The proximity to Paddington station made it convenient for our trip to Windsor and when we left to Heathrow. Also convenient for getting the Tube. Had a nice walk to Kensington Park and enjoyed Diana's fountain and the park in general. We didnt' venture out much at night because we were in London towards the end of the Aug 2011 riots. Didn't find too many great restaurants near the hotel but maybe we weren't informed. Would stay here again if we needed a place to stay in this area of London. Breakfast was just okay, servers were attentive.
“Mixed feelings”
The location was good (although more than the 100meters from the underground as advertised). Lots of restaurants in the area. The hotel was clean but our room was on the 3rd floor with no elevator. The real problem is that the stairs were so narrow, we could barely get our suitcases up the stairs. While the rooms were clean, there was no soap or shampoo provided. There was also no place to hang towels. To my surprise, they only change towels every other day! I might have been less bothered if I had known in advance but since there was no place to hang the towels, I put the used one on the floor, expecting a clean one!!!
“Perfect base for our stay in London”
Our trip was pure holiday, and we wanted a moderate price hotel in a great location. Orchard Hotel was it for us! Easy access to Paddington and Edgware Rd tube stops, and the Heathrow Connect train. Lots of good eating places near by -- especially Indian (Moghul) and Lebanese (Ya Hala). We did take a full English breakfast at Mimo's Cafe which was good and plentiful. Hotel acccomodations were perfectly satisfactory as we were out and about London from 9 AM to 9 PM. Happy to get back to our hotel and have a good night's sleep. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful to us; the breakfast though modest (hard boiled eggs, ham, cheese, toast, cereal) was fine. We would definitely stay there again. Our room was plenty warm enough; the mattress was very firm. Only thing I'd ask for would be fluffier pillows.
“Value for money”
Taking into mind that it's overpriced London, this hotel is great value for money. Expect it to be a triple-star service and not a bit more. Everything except the price is a bit below "ok" level.
“Ideal family stop off to visit london sights or take in a show.”
Needed a room for four. Two adults and two kids. For a half term short break to London. Five minute walk to Paddington. Hotel staff polite and helpful. Room was very clean although a bit cramped for space. Continental breakfast included was just what we wanted. Tea coffee juice cereal toast eggs ham and cheese. Very good value for money. Will stay here again.
“Money worth stay”
The location is really convenient, close to tube station. The hotel did not response to emergency well. There was power outage the first night we arrived London. Hotel staff did not give us enough information as what happened and when to expect it to come back. He told us nothing he could do even we asked a flashlight or candle, so we stayed in the dark first night in London.
“Due for renovation within the rooms”
Good location, close to Metro & Heathrow Express terminal. There is nothing to do at the hotel, & the rooms are due for removation. However, it was a clean room. Resonably priced in comparison with other London Hotels.
“WIll never go Back”
Horrible experience. Stay away at all cost. Enough said. There are plenty of hotels in the neighborhood for the same money or less that would be a much better option.
