“Great Hotel in a good location”

This is now the second time we have stayed in this hotel both times for short breaks in London. We have two young children and we find the room size is adequate for the four of us. The rooms are always clean and the staff very friendly. The breakfasts are great. The location of the Hotel is ideal as it is very close to Tower Hill tube station, there are plenty of interesting attractions nearby for young and old and some great pubs.

Not a bad hotel but not the best quality room. Furniture was a lot to desire for. Very good service by the staff but needs some uplifting in the room comfort.

“Attractive hotel, okay location”

We enjoyed our stay at the Novotel because it was modern, clean and comfy. It was really close to the tower hill underground station so it was super easy to get around the city and to and from the airport or train terminals. And as the name suggests, it was only about a block from the tower bridge and tower of London. The downside was that if you want to see most of the rest of the city, it is not as close. The globe theatre and the Tate modern are reasonably close (25 min walk?), across the London bridge. The hotel is essentially in a financial district and you don't have many tempting options for food in the blocks surrounding it. I would recommend crossing over the tower bridge if you are looking for somewhere to eat that is walking distance from the hotel. Oh, also I found the Internet service (which is pricey at £10 per day) difficult to use. On my iPad, I had to re-log in constantly and it didn't stay connected when I switched apps. Could have been user error, but I haven't had that problem at other hotels on my trip. All in all, I would recommend this hotel to someone who is interested in doing a lot of walking or okay with taking the underground to most attractions in the city.

“Perfect hotel in London (price/cleaniness/location wise)”

A 1 minute walk to the tubes, a 3 minutes walk to the trains, what more can one wish when you visit London for sightseeing? Two of London's most important sights (Tower and Tower bridge) are just around the corner. Rooms are well cleaned/maintained, not too spacious, but one, most likely, is only there for the nights. The hotel's good breakfast isn't cheap, but where is it in hotels these days?! If you travel with kids the average becomes a lot lower. Alternative breakfast location: 2 min walk. If we are to write anything negative about the hotel it's probably the fact that there's no concierge, which could cause a bit of waiting when you just want to drop off /collect your luggage or ask for directions.

Area recommendations
Museums in London are either expensive or free, so let's say the average is okay. If weather permits stroll alongside the banks of Thames river. The area has undergone some serious upgrades and is worth to be seen. The market behind Southwark Cathedral offers you a nice place for lunch. Take kids to the huge toy shop in Bondstreet and along the road have a peak at the other shops yourself.
Getting around
Buy a day pass for the tube at the subway stations. When you buy one for off hours (after 9.30 am), it's only 16.5 pounds sterling for a family of 4 (2 adults, 13 yrs, 9 yrs). There's no such thing as a 3 days pass, but there's one for 6 days (just do your calculations)
Must see
Houses of Parliament; open to the (foreign) public on Saturdays only after reservation (just go to the website and buy tickets, works perfectly). It's a rare opportunity to have a peak at the very traditional system of Houses in the UK. Also worth a visit is Sir J Sloane's museum. It only takes you 20 min, but what a private collection stowed in a couple of houses; that one every wanted to live in between so many artifacts ... And of course all the must sees: Westminster Abbey, St. Pauls, Big Ben, Tower (bridge), British Museum, Victoria and Albert Museum and changing of the guards (check website of Buckingham Palace, as it's not on every day during winter months)

“What I think”

This was a very well kept hotel. The staff were extreley helpful and polite. The only problem I had was with the seperate toilet and bathroom. I think this is a good idea but there was no handbasin in the toilet so you had to come out of the toilet and into the bathroom to wash your hands!! Very weird in these days of hand hygiene and infection control! Overall it was a minor detail and I was very safisfied with the hotel.
