“London city visit”
Hotel is good, modern, convenient and payable The breakfast is very good.
“Should be much better”
Comfortable room and environment; decent shower, reasonable and quiet location on South Bank, but spoiled by having to mop the floor after each shower because of ill fitting door and by barely cooked and lukewarm breakfast food and indifferent service by restaurant staff. If the shortcomings are attended to, I would use again but I'm not confident that they will be.
“Great hotel in a covenient location!”
We had a fabulous time at this hotel, excellent breakfast and covnient location. The staff were really lovely and the room was excellent. We would definately return again. We loved the slippers and bath robes and had a lovely quiet nights sleep. No noise from any other rooms!! Missing it already.
“Excellent”
Very happy with the hotel and location - would recommend and book again
“Really lovely”
I loved this hotel.. Took my boyfriend for his birthday & we loved it. It was in a great location for getting around, close to London Bridge tube station. The staff were very friendly, especially the bar staff! It was great that even on a Sunday the bar was open until midnight which was brilliant for us. The bed was lovely and big (even though it was only a queen) and the room was a good size. The really great thing was the breakfast in the morning - absolutely top notch! It's a buffet style, so you could have as much as you wanted - and the choice was brilliant. I think we'll definitely be going back there in the near future..
“" Will come back if given a chance"”
The hotel's location is convenient to restaurants and public transportation. It is clean and service of staffs is very good, they are all very helpful. The size of the room we were in is fairly reasonable, the bathroom with the tub and shower is a good size, the only drawback is that the separate toilet does not have a sink to wash your hands. I will recommend this hotel to people going to London.
“Hotel was okay”
This hotel was okay. It was not what I was expecting for a four star hotel. The room was nice, it was clean and seemed well maintained. Despite the cost of the hotel everything right down to wireless internet was additional cost. There were computers in the lobby, however the internet was often down in the evening and it was inconvienient to have to rely on this, especially after a busy day and then have to sit in the lobby waiting in line for one of the two available computers. The staff was not that helpful, and they did not seem to be on the same page. One staff member was very helpful, other staff members were unwilling to help with confirming reservations, gave bad directions, did not give good advice concerning making long distance calls home, and there did not seem to be a standard of service as different staff members would do different things. Personally, I would not stay here again. The local borough market was very interesting, but when location was combined with London weather, it not a convienient location for what we wanted to see. As well, while the room was clean and maintained the layout was strange. The hotel in Paris was small, as is normal for European hotels, but at least all the bathroom pieces were in one room. I did not like that the toilet was in a completely different closet sized room and then the sink, bathtub and walk in shower were in another room.
“great location for families, but rooms not best suited for more than 2 people”
The "superior" rooms in this hotel are fairly basic compared with Mercure and other Novotel hotels we have stayed at, although I appreciated the security of a safe to lock away passports etc. I was disappointed with the lack of space generally, but particularly with the utter lack of hanging/drawer space. And yet, ironically, the area is ideally located for the attractions children love: the London Eye, London Dungeons, London Bridge Experience, Aquarium, Tower Bridge, Millenium Bridge, Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, Borough Market, great cafes and restaurants on the Embankment and the "rough diamond" location only 5 minutes from the nearest Tube station. Dining in at the hotel was good. Breakfast was well catered for. The hotel staff were all attentive and friendly and room service and daily cleaning were very prompt. I think though that the hotel needs to make up its mind which demographic to please, or be more flexible. It looks and behaves like a business person's hotel and yet was full of families and friendship groups while we were there. I would not stay there again based entirely on the cramped conditions of the room, as the sofa bed had to be extended for the duration of our visit giving us literally no space to move around. My children are both under 10; and therefore needed time to relax in the room and play between outings. It simply wasn't designed with this consideration in mind and there is no park close by -just very busy roads.
“hope to stay there again and/or their other locations.”
We very much enjoyed our stay. The resturant was very good. Location was great for our Pub-Crawling needs! Look forward to a return.
“Would stay again”
Location was good for us. Computer and printer in lobby. Nice buffet breakfast in am. Staff were very accomodating-moved room because we wanted windows open and not used to city traffic noise. Stored our large bags when we went to Paris for a few days. Always accomodating. Would stay again.
