“Had some hiccups”
Housekeeping a big negative. First, one of our supposedly clean towels actually had a bottle cap and some other nasty items stucked to it. And on the 2nd day, there was only half a roll of toilet paper and it took over an hour for housekeeping to respond to our request. On another hand, concierge notably Ali, was extremely helpful and cordial. The restaurant team should also be commended for their good services.
“Great location with the extras”
Our visit was 3-6 AUG 2011. Hotel was great, room was great Rm 453. 5 minute walk to subway/tube with easy access to all other lines. Local and fast food restuarants just a quick walk. Hotel has a restuarant and a nice bar. Concierge was the best with travel and local info and internet hook ups. Only compliant was no free internet/wi fi for such a nice hotel. Quite hotel, no views, construction next to it. Cabs in front all the time. I would definitly stay again. Plenty of friendly service people at the front desk at all hours
“Old looking but comfort hotel”
Very nice neighborhood - quiet and still.
“Informal and pleasant”
We wanted a hotel north of the city for easy access to Wembley. Unfortunately both tubes to Wembley Park were closed for maintenance so we did have to taxi more than we'd hoped. The room was large with two double beds with mattress toppers and choice of pillows. The bathroom was the smallest we have ever been in! There was some noise from the air con, which, together with noise from a school prom and traffic made sleep difficult on the first night. The staff gave us a quieter room at the rear of the hotel and we switched off the air con. Sleep for the remaining 2 nights was much better! The staff were very helpful overall and the atmosphere was pleasantly informal. The restaurant was closed on Sunday evening but the bar food menu was available. When we asked for something from the restaurant menu it was provided. There is building work going on opposite but this was okay at the weekend. Some areas of the hotel need an upgrade but the prices are very good. Very handy for Swiss Cottage tube. Some nice pubs near Primrose Hill area. All in all good value for money and not at all pretentious.
“a good place to stay”
Satisfactory accommodations.
“A let down!”
We were disappointed not to receive our London Zoo tickets at check-in and there was no effort on the part of the hotel to reimburse us. One side of the otel was on a busy road so it was quite noisy on Friday night. Breakfast was good - plenty of choice. Bar service was very slow.
“Refurb is due now”
The Hotel is showing its age and requires an urgent refurbishment. Everything looks worn out, specialy the matresses that have a pronounced "C" shape. Room was cold at arrival. Car park is not included; a separate charge applies. Breakfast is fine, but you'll get that grease smell into you due to the English breakfast being prepared in front of the room. Staff was very polite and helpfull.
“Excellent location”
We stayed for two nights. The room was clean, comfortable and well maintained. The breakfast was excellent with a wide selction of food. The location was perfect as we wanted to be near the Primrose Hill area and Lord's cricket ground.
“Would probably go back again.”
The hotel was family friendly, clean and comfortable. There wasn't a lot of space for the roll up bed for our child and it would have been helpful if the hotel had advised us of this in advance. The mini bar is only stocked with soft drinks, another point worth making in the hotel information. However. on the whole it was a pleasant and enjoyable stay.
“Very good hotel with helpful staff”
Very good hotel , with excellent breakfast ( they make omlets of your choice on request to a very good standard and the children loved the waffle machine!). They even had a childrens entertainer making blow up balloon characters on Sunday. Good value for upgrade to executive package with wifi and free snacks from the exec lounge. Staff were very helpful and one of the guys even ran up the road to get us a black cab. Will stay again.
