Decent Hotel - cleanliness, OK

Posted 20-Dec-2014
The Room was comfortable and the hotel amenities were what you'd expect of a Marriott. My concern, however, was with Housekeeping. I noticed that my room was cleaned daily but not vacuumed. I'm unsure if my sheets were changed but my towels were changed regardless of whether they were left hanging (as instructed should I want to reuse and conserve water) or left on the floor.

Prima hotel

Posted 09-Dec-2014

Dear RM Thank you for spending a weekend at the London Marriott Marble Arch and posting a review about your stay. Firstly I am very sorry for the cons experienced which I have shared with the team. I also do hope that you had the opportunity to speak with a member of the team about the heating/air conditioning. On the other hand I am delighted to hear of the pros and the rooms met with your expectation. My sincere thanks again for your comments as we constantly review and where appropriate and necessary, action changes for the benefit of all our guests. Ross Paton, General Manager

Vue panoramique sur Londres !

Posted 09-Dec-2014

Mediocre for a Marriott

Posted 06-Dec-2014
The title of the hotel gives the impression of being on the same road as the Marble Arch. It is not. It is on the same road as the "Islamic Bank of Britain", in a very foreign location, full of resteraunts, cafés and shops aimed solely at Middle East people. We struggled to find a near by resteraunt that didn't serve halal or shisa! The road is gruby looking, and my purse was stolen out of my bag a few minutes away from the hotel. The hotel itself was ok, but I wouldn't stay in this area again, even though a five minute walk away, is the Marble Arch and oxford street. If you want to be near the Marble Arch, then the Hilton is much better located then the Marriott.

Dear francesca Thank you for staying with us at the London Marriott Marble Arch and posting an honest review on your stay. Firstly my sincere apology for your unfortunate incident and I trust you were able to report the matter to the Police and or able to get assistance from a member of staff at the hotel. The hotel is named after its nearest landmark, the ‘Marble Arch’, which taking the side road to the left of the hotel and two blocks up to the right is visible. I am very sorry the vicinity of the hotel did not meet with your expectations. Edgware Road forms part of London’s vibrant and diverse community however the surrounding area extends further and are many side streets with an array of alternative restaurants, and places of interest, and again, I am very sorry if assistance was not provided to make you aware of this. It is regretful to hear you would not stay again and my thanks again for your valuable feedback. Ross Paton, General Manager

Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Hotel is in an ideal location, approx 10mins walk from the shops. Free tea and coffee in the lobby which was good to take away in the morning. Room was very comfortable. Overall an excellent experience and would def stay again.

Nice but tired Marriott

Posted 30-Nov-2014
Pros: Clean, the staff were lovely, and a short walk from Marble Arch Tube
Cons: Do not, ever, add an optional charge to a customer's bill without asking first.
Location: Shopping. You are a short walk from Oxford Street shops.
The hotel was what we needed, when we needed it. Breakfast buffet (included in our rate) was decent, and the staff were lovely. On our arrival, the hotel computers had crashed, so check-in was by hand. We ended up moving rooms as we were put directly behind a lift as my wife has issues with noise when sleeping. Going down to the check-in desk, the staff took care of us immediately. We felt the hotel could have used an update, as some decor was showing its age. Drinks in the bar, as with most London hotels, were expensive. We would stay here again if the price was right, but be mindful of your bill as the hotel automatically added an optional charitable donation. It was only 1GBP, but we had them take it off the bill as it was added without asking and without our consent. Had we been asked beforehand, we would have donated.

great location just off the Edgware Road

Posted 30-Nov-2014
Pros: Location
Location: Very close to Hyde Park and the main Oxford Street shopping areas
First room smelled badly of smoke, which is strange given that the hotel has a non-smoking policy, but I was immediately offered another room. the matter was resolved quickly and efficiently by the staff.

Dear Lucerne Thank you for your review regarding your visit to the London Marriott Marble Arch, and firstly, I am very sorry the hotel did not meet with your expectations and the inconvenience of not having a stocked mini bar. Your comments are greatly appreciated as will allow me the opportunity to review and assist us in making improvements where we can.
