“excellent value and good location”
I intend to stay in this hotel every time I visit London in future. It is excellent value for a room that is bright, clean and spacious. The shower was very powerful and the bathroom was clean and well-equipped. The staff were polite. The hotel itself was in walking distance from the shopping and dining areas of Oxford St, Soho, etc, while also being next to Hyde Park.
“Great Location”
This hotel is excellent value and in a great location. The breakfast was fine and there was plenty of choice. There were 6 in our party, 2 adults and 4 teenagers and all of us where impressed with the hotel. If the weather is good try walking through Hyde Park to Buckingham Palace or to the museums in Kensington.
“Great Hotel”
We have stayed here four times now, in four different rooms, only once not too happy with basement room (window level with overgrown garden, so couldnt open it) but overall its a good hotel, Inclusive breakfast is very nice and the serving staff are really polite and friendly. Good location, convenient for the tube and various attractions, but on a quiet street so no traffic noise. Would stay here again.
“Great value”
This hotel is in a decent area not far from the Tube, our family room was clean and comfortable and all of the staff we met were helpful and friendly. I would be happy to recommend it to anyone looking for an inexpensive short stay in London.
“Comfortable Stay + The Price Is Right!!”
London Guards Hotel is located just behind Christchurch Lancaster Gate within walking distance from the Tube and more importantly the local pub 'The Swan' who serve the best fish'n'chip in London. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful with no complaints or extra cost surprises. Although our room was facing the street, there was little to no noise due to the quiet area the hotel is set in. For those of you looking to tour the sites I can't recommend the Tube enough especially if you avail of an Oyster card(available at most kiosks) which offers a discount over standard rail tickets. March Arch, Tyburn Tree Site, Albert Hall and Kensington Palace all within reasonable walking distance for the young and fit. I will most def be back again. Enjoy your stay.
“Good value”
Room G7 is immediately over the kitchens & staff entrance, & the bed is next to the clocking in machine. Very noisy late at night as staff leave, and early morning as they arrive. This room has been converted from a corridor1 Asked to be moved for 2nd night & were given 404 (top floor front) - excellent room. Reception staff extremely helpful. Opted to pay extra 2.95p for English breakfast, but it was a big mistake - stick with the included continental unless you enjoy hard fried eggs & overdone, brittle bacon. Overall very good value for money
“Quiet area yards from Hyde park and a Central line tube station”
Nice enough hotel. Nothing special but clean and comfortable. Quiet area away from the main road up a cul-de-sac but still very close to the Central line tube station which takes you straight into the heart of the city and Hyde park which you can cross to get to Harrods or Buckingham palace easily.
“Pleasant, clean, comfortable and more than adequate at a budget price”
Hotel chosen primarily for cost and location; being a business trip I tend not to need anything other than a clean room, decent comfy bed, semi quiet location and enough breakfast to get me to lunchtime. After trying several hotels in the Lancaster Gate/ Bayswater area; all around the same price, am glad to say this was the best. I ended up in a 2 bedded room, very clean bedlinen and towels and even toiletries. The TV worked (with more than 1 channel!) ,the room looked relatively recently refurbed, the receptionist welcoming, and breakfast, though basic, was absolutely fine with choice of (branded) cereals, breads etc. This may not be the perfect romantic getaway, but for my needs was fantastic for the price.
“London (Paddington area) hotel”
Pleasant & friendly staff. Quiet yet central location. Clean and reasonably spacious room. Nice continental brekky available up to >10:30am. My first choice of overnight stay in London from now on.
“Great Hotel!”
This was a great hotel to stay in! It's within walking distance of stores (to buy less-expensive food) and the tubes. It had that "London" feel to it and not the cookie-cutter hotel feel. The staff were very pleasant and considerate, we arrived from the airport at 0900hrs and with check-in time not being until 1400hrs, the staff cleaned our room early (from a check-out that morning) and got us in the room by 1030hrs. The only thing that put us off for the stay was the lift. It was a little sketchy when we were taking it up to the room. Upon trying to take the lift down for check-out, we pressed the button for the lobby and it made a funny noise and all power shut down, not even the alarm-bell button would work. Thankfully the lift hadn't moved yet and I was able to force the doors open and we hastily exited the lift. Once I notified the staff of the problem, they rushed to get it fixed. Other than the lift debacle, our stay at the London Guards Hotel was fantastic!
