“small and not well maintained”
Great location but the condition of the hotel is not very good the breakfast is not really worth having
“I recommend it”
Good relation quality-price. Friendly reception staff, clean and relatively close to Bayswater station. The breakfast was quite austere. Recommendable.
“Not recommended to anyone”
Good: Courteous service and location. Breakfast: average Bad: everything else. Rooms too small, dirty, housekeeper does not clean the rooms, some walls of rooms with leakage, toilet too small, lift very small and so for. Conclusion: Not recommended.
“Small, Humid, and Needs some TLC”
The biggest issue we had with our room was the bathroom. It was tiny, smelled damp and old, and looked like there was mould in the tiles. The beds were uncomfortable and the windows didn't stop any noise from outside. They were doing some renovations at the time, so it may get better. The breakfasts were pretty good (though Continental rather than the advertised English breakfasts), however the dining room was too small for the number of guests. It was only a 5-10 minute walk from Paddington station, so access around London through the Tube was good. And a quick walk to Hyde Park. There are also several small restaurants and food shops down the street, which was quite convenient. Overall this hotel would be OK for a short stay (convenient access and OK rates for London), but not for a longer stay.
“The worst reception staff ever and watch out if you need the toilet!”
Upon arrival I was told that I had to leave a 20 pound deposit "in case you break something" was the explanation. As I didn't know the pin number of my credit card I was asked to leave a cash deposit. So I left a 10 pound deposit (all I had on me) and for good measure the two Chinese receptionists decided to also write down my full credit card details on my reservation sheet. I told them that I did not feel comfortable with this information lying around in reception, but was pretty much told that this was policy if I wanted to stay in the hotel. Upon departure two days later, I did get my deposit back, but when I asked to see that my credit card details were indeed scratched out, I was asked "did you make any of our towels dirty?" In disbelief I asked what on earth she meant (same chinese girl) and she explained that a lot of customers wipe their make up off on the towels! This is a hotel with some 50-60 rooms, of which some of them do not have a bathroom. It turned out that my room was one of those and that I had to hunt around the entire hotel to find a toilet that was not occupied. I ended up counting the number of bathrooms. I found 3 toilets and 2 showers in the entire building. In the end I had to wash my face using a drinking bottle and dripping out of the window. The bed was comfortable, but the room felt like cindrella's room chosen by her evil stepmother. It was by the way on floor 1 1/2 - off the landing between two floors. I will never return!
“More a Hostel then a Hotel, very dissatisfied”
From the reviews and background information regarding the hotel, I would be forgiven in thinking that I would get a room bigger than 2m squared. The information I read here about the hotel was very misleading in my opinion. I wasn't expecting the tiny room, nor the fact that in the 21st century that I would have to share a toilet and separate shower with other guests. I would have understood if the Leisure Inn were a hostel, but its not, it claims to be a hotel. Location - brilliant the one thing that the hotel claims that is actually true, the hotel is only 5 minutes walk from London Paddington.
“Good short-visit hotel”
Ok hotel close to the tube which made it easy to get all over London. The room was small but worked for us because we didn't spend much time there. First night was hard to sleep due to rowdy people in the hall but all other nights were fine. Breakfast was good and helped get the day started right. Good, clean, basic older hotel.
“well located budget hotel”
The best thing about this hotel is its location - close to Notting Hill Gate and only a short tube ride away from central London. We found our room to be small and quite cramped and were given a double bed even though we specified two single beds when booking. Room was clean though and breakfast in the morning was fine - typical buffet style with cereal, toast and a choice of coffee, tea, orange juice or hot chocolate. Good for a night or two but not recommended for longer stays!
“Pleasant surprise”
The room was a bit small, but this is expected for this price range. Also, the hotel is well located, walking distance from the tube and Hyde Park. There is also a very nice pub with delicious pies nearby. We are going back to London and will stay there again.
“There are much better hotels in London”
I can't say the Leasure Inn in Queensway was the most terrible place to stay in the world. That said, you could really do better for what they charge. For one, the room is quite small, but I was on my own so I let it go. The room also smelt like paint for some reason and was in the fire escape stairwell (so not inspiring confidence from the get go). The floor was a bit grubby - looking as if it hadn't been vaccumed in several weeks, and the toilet was crammed into a corner that...well it made things difficult for blokes. Shower pressure was low, but at least it was hot. I CAN say, however, that the bed was quite comfortable and large - so I slept very well during my stay. Breakfast was pretty minimal, but nothing was stale or terrible. Nothing to write home about anyways. Go to Express by Holiday Inn in Collier Wood (Wimbledon) instead. More reasonably priced, and the rooms are a little nicer. Still not great, but nicer. If you DO go there though, avoid the Crossants.
