“Nice hotel in a quiet location”
Hotel was nice enough; staff were friendly and helpful. Room was nice but just neede a little more attention in regards to being cleaned. Plus they don't know how to make a bed properly, the bottom sheet didn't fit!! Hotel was located about 5-10 mins from tube depending on how quick you walk. Breakfast was adequate and very reasonably priced.
“Lancaster Gate”
Good value stay on a Sunday night in central London. Quiet position in Bayswater and reasonable room. Recent refresh of parts of the hotel has made a great difference
“Good Location”
The Lancaster Gate Hotel offered good quality for a fair price. The location between the Lancaster Gate and Queensway Central Line tube stops plus access to many bus lines makes the location ideal. The staff were extremely accommodating and pleasant. Across from Hyde Park for sitting on a bench or walking to Royal Albert Hall and the V & A. There are restaurants and convenience stores in the neighborhood. I was pleased with my 6 night stay at this location.
“Well Presnted and Good Value For Money”
A pleasantly presented hotel of good decorative order. REception staff were efficient and pleasant. The only quibble I have is that the breakfast restaurant does not appear to be of a size to cope with the onrush of guests at peak times.
“Perfect location! will definately be back in September 2012!”
This hotel is in a clean and safe neighbourhood, a half block to buses and three blocks to tube station. Great local restaurants and the hotel has a dining room and bar as well as room service. The staff are very nice and offer good service. The rooms were very clean and quiet. Queen size beds available. We are looking forward to going back. This will be our hotel of choice having stayed at three others.
“Excelent opportunity”
It was an excelent choice. The room was ok, and the hotel in general was very good. The location was great, 3 tube stations close to it and buses as well. It is in front of the Hyde Park, it is an amazing area and a very nice neighborhood..
“Could be bigger”
The first room offered was not big enough to swing a cat in not to mention being able to bring the luggage in as well and a lovely veiw of the garbage bins and a brick wall at the rear of the hotel. After complaining we were shown another room just as small. The third room however was a little bigger and we were able to fit in this one with our luggage and it had an outlook over the street which was nice.Staff were very accomodating though and helped with information whenever they could.Would have been nice to be helped with luggage after 28 hours of travelling though but this didn't happen. Easy enough to get to by bus with a walk but as the main attractions and shopping are on the other side of Hyde park it wasn't central enough.
“Best Hotel for Hyde Park”
We stayed in Lancaster Gate Hotel in June 2011 to see Kings of Leon in Hyde Park. The hotel is excellently located just a short walk to Hyde Park and also to the Lancaster Gate tube station. The hotel looks lovely outside and in and the staff are helpful and professional. The downside to our stay was that the beds and pillows are really not comfortable and you can hear every noise in the surrounding rooms from showers running to toilets flushing so do not expect to get a good nights sleep. We were only staying for 3 nights but each morning we woke up stiff, sore and tired. Apart from this the Lancaster Gate Hotel is perfect for a long weekend stay and I would stay here again.
“Very nice location”
This is a nice hotel near to tube station (not uncommon in London) and only a street away from a large park with trees and grass. The hotel is a bit old, but clean and the personel is very friendly. The first time I got in my room, it was very hot and I could not open the window, but there was a very effective airconditioning. When I turned it on, the temperature dropped immediately to a comfortable level. In the neighborhood there is also a street with shops and restaurants (Queensway). I would gladly go there again.
“Have been to other Hotels in London & would go back again”
Great area to use as a base, as ver close to most of the tourist areas in London. Good transit & underground stations very close. Hotel is a little run down but it was clean & very comfortable. The room was up to date & comfortable. The beds were good, although Europe as a whole does not know what pillows are (they use flat squares). We paid to eat breakfast there some mornings, which was good. We did not eat any other meals there, therefore, I am unable to comment. Wi-fi was not included & a little expensive to purchase, however, as the cost of the hotel room itself was on the inexpensive side that was OK. If you are looking for a five star hotel this is not the hotel for you but if you are looking for an inexpensive, good, clean base I would recommend this hotel.
