“Excellent Service”
Customer service here was excellent. I presume I was upgraded, to a beautiful room, and checking in and out was easy. I would definitely stay here again.
“We loved the Kingsway Hall Hotel”
I love Bloomsbury and this hotel is the first one in the neighbourhood that suited our expense account and where all our needs were taken care of. The AC wasn't working properly when we arrived and someone came and fixed it immediately. We stayed in the back of the hotel and it was very quiet. The location is perfect, theatres and restaurants are within walking distance. Two coffee houses are just around the corner...we tended to not eat in the hotel's restaurant. We'll stay there again and recommend it to everyone!!!!!
“perfect hotel for this trip in London. Great location”
I loved this hotel which was perfectly located for all that I had to do in London. It was gracious and lovely and had all that i needed for my stay in london. I am looking forward to a return trip at some point! gh, brooklyn ny
“PLAN TO USE THIS HOTEL AGAIN”
I picked this hotel because it was close to the theatre district. This allowed me to see 8 shows in 4 days (plus visits to the British Museum and the National Gallery). I was particularly pleased when I checked in at 9:30am from an overnight flight and they gave me a room immediately. This gave me the opportunity for a nap before beginning my theater tour. Another benefit was the exercise room which was well-equipped (and lightly used so there was no wait for equipment). They also had an inviting spa which I longed for but bypassed due to time constraints. I did not eat in the Hotel Restaurant as I generally avoid hotel restaurants (unless the rate includes breakfast which it did not in this case). I plan to use this hotel again on my next theatre tour.
“Find another hotel”
I stayed at Kingsway Hall for a business trip, so the main reason I chose it was the location, but based on the website photos and other Expedia reviews, I had high hopes for a comfortable stay. Two things struck me immediately and gave me some doubts about that. 1. Decor. The lobby is bright and clean, but step out of the elevator and the whole scene changes, to circa 1990. The hallway is lined with too many bad framed art prints, each with an oversized brass light above it, making you feel cramped. The room decor is outdated- flowered curtains, two high back chairs, and even my King Deluxe room was snug. 2. Thermostat. It was cold in the room, and I turned the heat to max, to no avail. Concierge brought me a portable heater, but that didn't warm the room sufficiently, so I had to change rooms and they only had a twin room available, which caused me to have to change rooms again the next day. To add to those 2 chief complaints, the key card needed to be reprogrammed every time I tried to enter my room (they blamed my cell phone); the wall hair-dryer detached from its hose as soon as i picked it up, preventing me from being able to use it; i couldn't dial internationally from my room even following the concierge's instructions; the hotel couldn't provide a U.S./U.K. adapter, and there is no free WiFi. Given how expensive it was, it was a very disappointing experience. I would not recommend Kingsway Hall for business or pleasure stays.
“Great Location, Clean Rooms”
Kingsway Hall Hotel was a very pleasant experience. Like most London hotels, it's not really a four-star...rooms are small, beds aren't super-comfortable, showers are just okay...but the place was clean, the staff was friendly and the location was great. I'd definitely stay again.
“Highly Recommended”
Have stayed at the Kingsway Hall on a few occassions now and have never been disappointed. Biggest attraction for me is the location, a short walk from Holburn and almost right in Covent Garden which is my favourite part of London. The hotel itself is bright and modern and there is a nice bar off Reception. The rooms are a decent size and are very comfortable. They are also relatively fresh and contemporary. Breakfast not included in our rate and was ridiculously expensive, albeit no worse than other hotels but there are plenty of places nearby if, like us, you choose to have breakfast at more reasonable prices. That said would recommend and will definately be back.
“Will definitely stay there again!”
We were extremely happy with the Kingsway Hall Hotel. It is very convenient to Covent Garden - which we had wanted. It is only a few blocks away. There are many restaurants close by and a convenience store right across the street. The rooms seem a little larger than other hotels in London in which we have stayed. The beds are hard - I haven't found any really comfortable ones in London! There were extra towels as requested in my original reservation. The bathroom is a tub/shower combination - and the tub was tall. A little hard to get in and out of. The front desk is very helpful. We arrived late and blew a fuse in our room. The maintenance people arrived within minutes - and were very helpful. We had requested a room "with a view" but were told that for the first night we would not be able to have one. The front desk did say though that we could switch rooms the next day if we wanted. Our room was fine, so we decided to stay. We did not have a breakfast plan - and ate out most mornings. They do have specials every day - and they are much cheaper than either the continental breakfast or the full breakfast plan. However; you have to ask for it - it is not offered when you enter the restaurant. There is a Starbucks close by and a bakery just a block up the street. The entire staff was very helpful and pleasant - and made our experience that much better. Overall, we were very pleased with this hotel and will definitely make it our hub on our visits to London.
“Was perfect for my needs.”
The hotel was very reasonably priced, well located and the staff were extremely friendly and efficient. No complaints whatsoever.
“would use again”
despite the check in issues it was a great hotel. Although rooms are small (typical for london) it did have air con - which is very welcome in June in London. Location was great and staff friendly.
