“It was ok”

Hotel was ok for a bed to sleep in, a bit off the beaten track. Go value for money though.

“Friendliest staff ive ever come across!!!!”

Had a great time at the Hourglass, the staff were awesome & the pub downstairs had a great atmosphere. It was very close 2 the bus stop & tube station.

“Hour Glass Hotel, prix moyen à Londres”

Très propre, salle de bain commune, confort sommaire, c'est un bon hôtel pour rester quelques jours à Londres. Le quartier est très populaire (mais à priori pas dangereux), pas joli, mais à 20 mn de marche de Bermondsey et d'Elephant Castle. Pratique : 2 lignes de bus (42 et 343), dont une fonctionnant toute la nuit, s'arrêtent en face de l'hôtel et vous conduisent en 10 mn à la Tower Bridge ou au London Bridge. Petits cafés popus aux alentours pour un copieux petit déj anglais à moins de 4£.

“Das Hourglass-Hotel ist nur für Reisende ohne jeglichen Ansprüche geeignet”

Die Lage ist sehr weit außerhalb des Zentrums (Ein Tipp: Der Bus 343 ist ab der Station Elephant&Castle eine gute Verbindung), zu Fuß ist das ab der UBahn eine halbe Weltreise. Der Stadtteil ist ein sozialer Brennpunkt, die Bevölkerungsstruktur ist entsprechend, nur für Reisende mit Abenteuerlust zu empfehlen. Außer dem Pub im Hotel selbst gibt es Im Umkreis des Hotel gibt keine Lokale, Restaurants o.ä., dafür aber reichlich Betrunkene, die auch lange nach Schliessung des Pubs rumschreien. Die Rezeption des Hotel hat nur zu den Pubzeiten geöffnet (14-22 Uhr), daher kann man am Abreisetag noch nicht einmal das Gepäck dort zwischenlagern (Tipp: In der Victoria Coach Station kann man das ...)

“最寄り駅からたどり着くにも一苦労”

　チェックインは通常22時までですが、飛行機の遅れもあり23時以降に到着となると事前に連絡をいれました。結局、宿には00:30頃到着したところ、手数料を10ポンド取られましたが、入れてくれました。 　ただ、地球の歩き方にも乗っていないエリアなのでgoogle mapの表示を印刷して持って行っても、バスがどの系統に乗ればいいのか最初は分からなかったうえ、時間の関係か駅前でタクシーを見つけられなかったので、歩いて行ったら相当時間が掛かってしまいました。 　あと、洗濯機と乾燥機がキッチンに備え付けで無料で利用可能。但し、洗剤は自分で用意すること。夜間は騒音防止のため洗濯機と乾燥機両方とも使用禁止。 ただ、自分勝手な利用者が洗濯物を入れっぱなしで取りにに来ない場合もある。 また、私の滞在中に故障して使えなくなったので、外のクリーニング店に設置のコインランドリーを使用しました。 　部屋は、IKEA製の2段ベッドと洗面台、TV、冷蔵庫、洋服収納棚が備え付け。トイレとバスルームは共有ですが、そこそこ広くて各階にあったので特に問題なし。 無線LANインターネット接続は、アクセスポイントが各階にあるようで、私の泊まった3階(現地表記で2階)比較的電波は入りやすかったです。 　ホテルの地上階はバーなので酒を飲むのには困りません。ただ、「生ビール(draught beer)」と書いているところにシードル(アップルサイダー酒)を混ぜて書くのはどうかと思いました。 　なお、アメリカ英語の発音だと当地イギリス人には通じないことがあったりします。私はコインランドリーがどこかを質問した際、coin laundryが通ず苦労しました。

地下鉄Elephant & Castle駅のショッピングモール側から出て、343系統のバスに乗り、east streetの次の停留所が最寄りのバス停です。0時台まで運行しています。 逆にElephant & Castle駅に行く場合も同じく343系統です。
Shopping
キッチンの洗濯機が使えない場合は、walworth通り沿いのCastle Laundries(175 Walworth Road, London SE17 1RW)で洗濯すると便利です。
