“to save a few bucks, i guess this will do”

Far away from the main sights in london. not a very good neighborhood. you have a nice view of a cemetery in the back... the only good thing is the train station is a block away. other than that nothing else.

“Told it was the bottom of the barrel by other hostel users. I agree.”

It was the lowest end of the hostel experience in London. Many travelers more experienced that I agreed with me and recommended other places in London. I would never recommend this hostel to anyone, unless you were stuck in the middle of the night.

Area recommendations

Soho, Chinatown, Leicester Square off of Charing Cross was fun at night as well. I would recommend a place called Neal's Yard that sells cheese. It was remarkable. It was on a street called Short's Cross, I believe. It features artisan cheeses from the farms around London. It's difficult to find. The street is really an alley of sorts.

“Way out there”

It took me 35 minutes and 30 Euro to get there, was a pain in the rear end to get to. The next morning, I go back to central London via the Tube which doesn't run past 8:00 and spend almost 45 minutes. I went to a hotel in Sussex the next day and took less time and money in travelling.

“Had to switch bedrooms.”

At first they put me in very dirty and disgusting bedroom with some women who seem to actually live in the hostel. There were old pots, books, food, kitchen utensils, clothes and all sort of dirty things all around the bedroom (on the floor; hanging, etc). It was really difficult to find a space to even put my suitcase (I put on the bed after moving some of their clothes). Everything was a mess and smelly. I felt like I was in a detention room. I really try like crazy to find a different hotel the day I arrived, but it didn't work out. Thankfully, the next day the morning receptionist recognized all this issues and put me in a different room; a much cleaner one (there were only empty beds and a wardrobe as expected) where I met 2 actual tourists like me. In fact, these girl are very nice people and I had a wonderful time in London... If you think you can face this hostel and on a budget is the only way to visit London don't forget your disinfectant spray, sanitizers, linens, toilet paper and towel. Hum, a sleeping bag wouldn't be a bad idea. London is worth this sacrifice.

“Not impressed”

Website details were totally off the mark from the truth. The driver who was going to "pick up from victoria station" wasn't around, much easier to make your way there from Kensal Green station which is a piece of information they do not rely to you. Internet is 3 pounds a day, showers for males are in a cubicle in the room, and beds were not the greatest but tolerable.

Traveller's tip

Train station is 30 seconds away on the waterloo line, and night buses run (from memory the 5/N5) gets pretty close.

“Hotel 639”

Une auberge de jeunesse parfaite pour un séjour à Londres, très bien placé (station de métro à 200 mètres de l'auberge et bus de nuit fonctionnant 24h/24), espace détente où les échanges sont infinis (bar, billard, canapé, cybercafé...) enfin bref très suffisant pour un petit budget ;) à recommander !

tout à Londres et à voir et chacun peut y trouver son compte, qu'on soit rock, classique, gourmet, fêtard ou autre vous trouverez votre place!! ;p Que ce soit, Traflgar square, piccabilly circus, Camden town (quartier punk/rock avec des tas de boutiques et bonnes affaires!!), the london dunjon!! (un circuit d'horreur vraiment éprouvant et à faire pour les amateurs de films et histoires d'horreur!! ;)) arrêtez vosu également dans l'un des nombreux cabaret pour voir et apprécier l'ambiance comedie musicale tel que chicago! (vraiment très jazzi, sexy, drôle enfin bref extra!), ne pas oublier de s'arrêter dans un des nombreux pub (animé, bruyant mais tellement convivial!!) bon et bien sûre ne pas zapé le britsih museum ou la national galery pour les amateurs d'arts! ;) good trip!!!
