“Handy for the Town Hall”
Went to see a Panto at the Hammersmith Town Hall and the hotel was extremely convenient
“comfortable and clean on the go”
For a clean bed in a clean room for one night this was the ideal hotel. The hotel was the closest to our intended destiny of White City so we really did not experience the local environment. The undergrounds were very close which was convienient, the main underground had a lot of different fast foods on offer which again worked for us. Could not fault this as it said on the tin 'Express'
“Great service in England!!??”
I have never had much positive to say about hotel service in England, but the staff at the front desk were friendly and very helpful. The key thing was moving us to a disabled room where we could have the baby's cot and the sofa bed for the 4 year old. Would have been impossible in an ordinary room.
“Highly Recommend”
This hotel was located in between two tube stops and was conveniently located about 20 minutes outside of downtown London (via tube). Very impressed with the room cleanliness, quietness, and with the hotel staff, who were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was wonderful - much more than we expected. We would stay here again and recommend to others. Please bear in mind, all hotels in London and surrounding area have small rooms. My tip: you're in London - get out of your room and do something!!
“Holiday Inn Hammersmith London”
Clean and friendly hotel and quite for London!. near Tube Station. Ideal for London tourist attractions, although its an average length tube ride into central zone 1-2 Heathrow about 30 mins or less by tube. Good location for Concerts and Exhibitions. Pub/food next to hotel ( Wetherspoons) Yep recommend this Hotel and will return to it!
“great location-Hard Beds”
A great locatiooon close to a major tube station. Lots of pubs for grub close by. Ver small rooms with the hardest beds we have ever tried to sleep on. The staff was very good. If they change the beds we would stay there again.
“handy for hammersmith, olympia”
working near )lympia, the hotel was fine for a short walk, 15min, to my meeting. Breakfast was OK but nothing special, room was fine and the free internet inthe lobby OK for simple browsing as quite slow. The real thing that irked me is that the hotel won't credit loyalty points for bookings via expedia, this seems totally counter productive to me. When I need to book a hotel I search on Expedia to find something near where I want to be and then choose what works best as a combination of price, facilities and location. Since i probably stay away for 90+ nights a year I would like to gather loyalty points where I can and I'm in all the major programs, some of which DO credit Expedia stays. Since I use Expedia as an aggregator of options available to me, it would make no sense for me to then log-in to those other hotel-specifc specific websites to make my booking when the price is the same (or More). Therefore it fails to encourage loyalty as I will just go to some other hotel via expedia from whom I will collect points.
“Great place to stay”
My stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Hammersmith was very comfortable and I was really impressed. The staff was very friendly, the breakfast buffet was pretty good and the rooms were very clean, however very small. The location was amazing. There were restaurants and shops nearby and a few blocks from the Underground station. I would stay at this hotel when I visit London again.
“Lights on, but Nobody Home”
Just refurbished in public areas and in bedrooms, giving a modern and airy atmosphere. However, bedrooms retain tiny toilet-shower facility with one door for toilet and shower area - quaint to say the least. Only one door separating room from corridor (no lobby) so rooms very susceptible to noise from other passing guests. Overall impression of room was 'everything bolted down', the thinnest toilet paper that could exist, liquid soap dispenser, only enough coffee for 2 cups, no waste bin, TV menu system deliberately awkward if wishing to avoid watching pay-TV. Breakfast buffet laughable, insufficient space to reach a very limited range of foods tucked away in a small corner, in addition very poorly stocked. Tip; go to Wetherspoons pub next door for a good English breakfast served with a smile, free wi-fi and also cheaper than Hi-Express. BTW, Wi-fi couldn't be persuaded to handshake in Hi-Express - computer says 'NO'. All facilities a poor second in quality to Ibis Earls Court which obviously was full during our stay here, for all above reasons.
“Basic budget hotel”
The "Express" in the name pretty much says it all. A very pared-down version of the typical Holiday Inn, with all of the basic necessities but no frills. Fine for a few days' stay and well situated, but anything beyond the basic amenities (including wifi in your room rather than the lounge, local phone calls, etc.) costs extra. Quiet neighborhood, plenty of restaurants, pharmacies, and other stores nearby. 5-10 minute walk to the underground station. One shortcoming: there were no directions provided by the hotel so you need to figure it out from the maps.
