I have to say if our experience was anything to go by then the return after the holiday was not as good as the way from the hotel. My mobile phone had run out of charge on holiday and stupidly i had not taken a charger however I assumed we would be able to easily contact the taxi firm from Gatwick after collecting baggage. Unfortunately there were no public phones working at the airport and non of the other taxi firms who have "offices" within the airport building would help other than to charge £16+ for the lift to Effingham Park. None of the "booked" taxis would phone to base to get a taxi to come and pick us up. We were warned that it would have been a hours wait for a taxi, had we been able to phone for a car anyhow. We resolved the problem ourselves in the end but it was not easy and cost a lot more than the £11 it should have..
The hotel staff were very welcoming and professional, the room was excellent, we had a fantastic view of the race course and the room provided us with a comfortable, clean and relaxing space after a long journey. The facilities were excellent, we used the gym, swimming pool and steam/sauna rooms, my teenage children really enjoyed them as did we.
The breakfast menu was extensive and of a really high quality, the chef taking orders for omelettes was friendly and despite being extremely busy maintained a sense of calm and courtesy at all times.
In conclusion, fantastic stay and I would highly recommend this hotel for both families and professionals, I hope to stay again one day.

I had a great week at the Crowne Plaza. The room was very large with a comfortable bed. The hotel was very quiet. It is near the airport but I could hardly hear the planes. I had room service twice and it was delicious both times. It was also delivered to my room very quickly. All of the staff that I interacted with were very polite and friendly. Housekeeping did an excellent job. The customer service manager helped me out in a jam. She really sets the standard for excellence in customer service. I did not use the internet so I do not know how well the connectivity is but the television had excellent reception. Although the hotel is not really close to much you can use the Hotel Hoppa shuttle to get to Heathrow and take the Underground or the bus to everywhere. It runs every 20 minutes from 4:00 am to 11:30 pm. I would recommend purchasing your tickets from the machine to the right when you exit the main entrance.
This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel with my daughter and we always have a wonderful time. The staff are wonderful, polite, helpful, an oasis which allows for escape from the rat race that is London. I am already planning my next break at the Grove.
I stayed for nine nights in a one bedroom apartment. I chose an apartment so that I could have my son and his girlfriend around as they live and work in London. It was my base for lots of sightseeing and then nights with my son or just chilling out after a big day.
